A pretty parasol that does its job well

Our main pushchair when my daughter was born was a Graco which we had a Graco Parasol for however one weekend when she wasn't very old, we decided to go to our static caravan and forgot to take our parasol with us (it was early spring and to be fair, we had not needed it so far). Although the pushchair had a hood, I didn't feel that this provide adequate shade so when I spotted this in Boots, I decided to buy.

The parasol is quite simple in design; the bracket and clip are both matt black, followed by a stainless steel effect arm and then the fabric parasol. The fabric has quite a soft feel to it and does have a slight shiny look to it, despite the low price, doesn't look cheap and nasty. The packaging was quite simple too, just a clear plastic sleeve that was sealed by two press studs at the end

Once I had removed from the packaging, it was really easy to pit, just screw the clamp onto the frame of the pushchair, and then the parasol slots into the hole, when it is inserted correctly; it will make a click noise. To remove, depress the two buttons on the base and pull. What I liked about this parasol was that the bracket could be left in place - with our unpredictable weather, some days we needed the parasol and the next the rain cover, I found it a little difficult to put the rain cover on while the parasol was in place but this meant that I could quickly unclip and remove the parasol when I needed to.

The parasol is advertised as universal, I think is because the clamp bracket was a cylinder shape so it should fit most cylinder shaped frames, It would not however fit on the Quinny or the Petite Star that we had at the time as the frames to both these were more of a square shape.

The only downside for me is that the parasol was only available in black, having a little girl, I really wanted a pink one but at the time we purchased, I needed one immediately and this was the only parasol available. Having looked online now, I can see that there are different colours available so should I purchase again, I would definitely shop around.

Overall I would recommend this parasol as it served me well and I would give 4 out of 5 stars.
