This is a very good rain cover that will fit a lot of different pushchairs

      WHAT IS IT?

A rain cover for a baby's pushchair that is made by Clippasafe.

      HOW DO YOU USE IT?

There are velcro straps attached to the rain cover and you use these to attach the cover to the metal frame of your pushchair. It is universal and that means it should fit all pushchairs, it fits mine that is made by Mothercare but it will not fit all because I have got a Quinny pushchair also and this rain cover is a lot too wide for that.

There are instructions on the best way for you to fit it and they are very easy to use so you cannot make any mistakes when you are attaching it to your pushchair.

      WHAT I THINK

I am happy with this rain cover but I wish they had put holes in it to let some fresh air inside. There are a lot of gaps by the frame and that is because of this being universal so it doesn't fit my pushchair exactly like a rain cover that is made for it would, but that is a good thing I think because if the gaps were not there then there would not be any fresh air inside the cover.

The PVC is quite thin but it does not flap around unless it is very windy and then it does not ever feel like it is going to be blown off my pushchair. I think that is good because it shows me that the straps are secure and that the plastic is good quality. It keeps my daughter dry and does not leak anywhere even when the weather is very bad.

I walk a lot with my pushchair because I think it is good for little children to be outside in the fresh air and we have been caught in rain showers many times, I am happy that this rain cover is easy to open over my daughter and when it has stopped raining it is very easy to push it back again over the hood. I fasten it with the velcro straps when I have pushed it back because that will stop the rain cover from falling forward again when I do not want it to. It does not collect water and when it is wet water does not tip onto my daughter when I remove the cover from over her.

      ANYTHING ELSE

This rain cover costs about £11, I bought mine from Amazon but you can buy it anywhere that sells Clippasafe products because it is a very popular item.

Stop the rain getting baby wet

After misplacing the rain cover that came with my first pushchair, a Babzee pushchair, I had to look for another rain cover. I initially started looking for a Babzee rain cover, but then had the brainwave of purchasing a universal one so that if I ever got another pushchair it could be used for that too.

After much searching I settled on this Clippasafe universal pushchair rain cover from Kiddicare for around the £12 mark. Clippasafe to a variety of different universal rain covers, for prams, tandems and travel systems to name a few.

The rain cover comes folded up quite small, after opening the packaging it does prove quite difficult to undo to the full size as it is quite stiff. I found the old rain cover that came with the pushchair to be the same so I guess it's just the type of material that is used. After its been manipulated out to the full shape and folded up a few times it is a lot easier to undo once folded.

To attach the rain cover to the push chair, you have to place it over the top and then two side panels will go through the handles and velcro up to the main part of the cover. I've found that the cover always stays in place despite battling strong winds. The only problem I found with this rain cover was if we were using cosy toes, the rain cover wasn't quite long enough to cover all of it. It wasn't a huge problem. Now my daughter doesn't use cosy toes anymore it is long enough to cover her feet, so perfect now.

Once the rain cover had been used a few times and wasn't as stiff as it first came out of the packaging, it was easy to just fold it up and place it on top of the hood if it was showery weather so that it was quick to just pull back down over the front again. Without being as stiff it also meant it was easy to fold and unfold to store it in the basket under the buggy without having to fight it to unfold it quickly.

After our first pushchair broke, I went on to buy another lightweight, umbrella fold pushchair and the rain cover works in exactly the same way as it did with the previous pushchair. This Koochi pushchair came with a rain cover included when I bought it, it's nice having this Clippasafe rain cover as a spare and it's now kept in the car just in case I forget to bring the Koochi one with us.

At £12 I think this rain cover is a good price to pay for a universal rain cover. It does what it is supposed to and stops children getting wet and windswept. After it has been used a few times, the initial stiffness decreases and is easy to use and store quickly. I'd definitely recommend this rain cover if you are looking for something that will fit most pushchairs.

        A great buggy raincover

I recently wrote a review on my second hand Maclaren Buggy, which although I bought predominately for holidays, I have ended up using now full time, as I find it so easy to get up and down and my daughter loves it. The problem with buying second hand is that the buggy didn't come with any accessories, and in my case a raincover, and anyone living in the UK knows that not having a raincover for a buggy is just unthinkable in our weather.

I wanted a cover that would serve both my Maclaren and my Mamas and Papas buggy that I hope to use next winter, rather than buying a separate cover for each, and so that was when I decided to look for a Universal rain cover. After a little research I decided upon the Clippasafe Universal Buggy Raincover, which at the time cost me just over £11 on amazon, but I have seen it in plenty of baby stores as well. There is also a raincover in the same range that is designed for prams, I know this as I nearly bought the wrong one!

Clippasafe are a brand of baby accessories that I have had experience with before and always been pleased with the quality, and so I was confident in this product.

On the front of the packaging that comes with the buggy it states that this raincover is:
        Easy to fit
Fleixble and transparent to protect your child and buggy from the weather
        Glass clear for excellent visibility

When the cover first arrived it was tightly packaged up and I was a little worried it would be very stiff, which I didnt want, as if you get caught in a shower of rain you need something you can get on and off easily and quickly. I also wondered which way round the cover went went i opened it out, however thankfully on the back of the packaging there are drawings to show you how to fit the cover to your buggy properly.

The easiest way to ensure you have it on the right way round is to make sure the Clippasafe logo and warning label are at the back facing the person wheeling the buggy. There are side panels to the cover which have to be fed through the handles and these are attached to the main body of the cover using velcro straps, which hold it together very well. At the bottom of the cover there are two sets of elastic foot straps which can be attached to the bottom of the buggy, or you can use the press studs to secure them, so if you are out on a windy and wet day you don't have to worry about the rain cover flying away (nearly happened to me with my Quinny Zapp raincover!).

In terms of ventilation although there doesn't appear to be any such air pockets/flaps, there seems to be good ventilation, which I assume may be from the side panels, where the air can get through. I also like the fact that if you are out and about in showery weather but it isn't raining at the time, this cover will fold back neatly and easily and sit on the hood of the buggy so it is only a matter of pulling it down should a rain shower come on suddenly.

All in all, this is a great universal buggy cover and I am very pleased with it. It works on both my Maclaren and my Mamas and Papas buggy which offers me good value for money. It keeps my daughter and my buggy dry and has already had plenty of use given this wet Spring we are having. A great raincover!
