      Worth the extra pennies

If you read my review on the Graco Duo tandem pushchair you might remember that I was a little bemused that there was a footmuff included for the front seat (for the older child) but not for the newborn at the back. It seemed a bit silly because surely you'd want your smallest bubba nice and snug too. Anyway after a quick google I discovered that these lovely footmuffs were available to buy separately. Very clever Graco, making us splash out a bit more cash! We ordered ours from Kiddicare and the recommended retail price is £36 but can be found as cheap as £20 online.

The cocoon isn't designed solely to use with the Duo tandem, it can fit on any Graco pushchair, so it's handy to know if we ever downgrade from our double buggy to a single that the footmuff won't be wasted.

The cocoon comes in different colours so you can co-ordinate with your pram. We just have the black and grey pram and so ordered ours in Orbit and it matches the pram nicely. The Jupiter colour looks quite attractive online; a nice brown and cream, but when I saw it in person in our local pram shop I was glad we chose the safer option of black!

When it arrived I loved it instantly. It looks so snug and warm, and really does cocoon your little one. The inside is lined with fleece and feels lovely and soft against your baby's skin. Other footmuffs we've used in the past tend to only cover the feet but this comes up high enough to ensure it protects your little one from the cold, without coming too high that you can't see their little faces.

It is relatively easy to attach to the pushchair and one of the advantages is that you don't need to remove it when the weather is a bit warmer. Rather than having to keep taking it off and reattaching it, it unzips leaving a lovely fleece liner to the pram. When the weather gets cooler again you simply pop it back on, which is much easier than having to reattach the whole thing.

Another good thing about it is that it is machine washable at 30 degrees. Our little one has decided to projectile vomit on ours on more than one occasion and we've simply bunged it in the machine machine and it's come out as good as new.

We've been really pleased with the cocoon - it keeps bubba nice and warm and snug and saves us having to worry about blankets etc to keep the chill out. Completely worth the extra money.
