Advantages: Good strong chunky pieces great for little fingers

Disadvantages: none that i can think of

I am mum to a 2 year old boy and a 10 year old girl, both of my children love the hungry catterpillar I have spent more time reading this book over and over again in the las 10 years than any other childrens book.

My mum bought my two year old boy this jigsaw puzzle as a gift quite a while ago, although my oldest has shown a little interest it hasnt been out of the box much,( it has been in a cupboard safe until I thought he was old enough), that is until a couple of weeks ago.

The book made it into our bedroom routine again and the next day my two year old discovered the jigsaw.

The box is really quite strong with a handy carry handle, it has an attractive picture of the well loved creature on the front, the puzzle itself consists of 24 large pieces, lovely big pieces ideal for little hands, when made up the puzzle is around 50cm by 70cm so hardly what I would call giant but it is big enough. The main picture on the puzzle is obviously the huge catterpillar it also has a lovely bright shiny sunshine and pieces of fruit along the bottom.

Jamie loves putting the pieces together to discover the catterpillar we have spent several moments over the last few weeks doing the jigsaw together, i say moments as his concentration span isnt great yet. I have been quite impressed at his ability to put the jigsaw together and feel it has helped towards gaining problem solving skills.

I think my mum paid about £7 for this puzzle and feel it is worth it, the pieces are quite solid and have a shiny protecetive coating on so great for grubby little fingers as they will wipe over.

I would recomend it for children of Jamies age and upwards great for spending time one to one with your little one.
