      Recommended for Peppa Pig fans

My daughter has a love of jigsaw puzzles and also Peppa Pig. She has a Peppa Pig jigsaw at her Nan's house and really enjoys doing it so we were really pleased when she got this box of jigsaws for her Christmas present from a friend. ---About Peppa Pig: Peppa Pig is a character from the TV shows of the same name. The show follows her life with her little brother George, her Mummy and Daddy, and all of her friends. The character is suitable for young children up to age 5-6 years and my daughter who is 2 1/2 loves it. Peppa gets up to all kinds of mischeif like my daughter, but she generally learns something by the end of the episode. ---About the product: The Peppa Pig 6 Puzzles come in a large cardboard box with a plastic handle. The box has pictures of the 6 puzzles that are in the box with the number of pieces in each puzzle. When the box is opened, all the pieces were mixed together which was a bit annoying - it wouldn't take much to separate them out for me! Luckily, when I turned the pieces over, I realised each puzzle had a different shape printed in red on the backs so you can split them into the correct puzzles. There are 6 puzzles in the box. The first two are 24 pieces: one of Peppa, George and their cousin Chloe; the second is of Peppa's family on a shopping trip with Miss Rabbit. The next two are 35 pieces: one of Peppa's family in Peppa's bedroom; the other of the school room with all Peppa's friends and Madame Gazelle. The last two are 50 pieces each: one of a party with all Peppa's friends at her house; and lastly Peppa and her family having a meal at Grandma and Grandad Pig's house. Each puzzle is the same size; approximately 30cm x 22cm. ---Our experiences: My daughter was very excited when we got home with this and started getting it out of the box. It was quite annoying that we had to sort all the puzzles before we could start playing with this as my daughter was keen to start 'now'. There was also no way of keeping them separated in the box so I had to put them in separate bags before putting them back in the very oversized box! Once we actually started playing with them, they were great fun and my daughter loved helping me put them together. It really helped that they were Peppa Pig as she recognises all the characters which helped her to put them together more easily. I generally put the edges together and then she helps me fill in the middle section with all the characters. These puzzles have the pictures taken from episodes so she is able to tell me what is going on in the story which is good for her memory. The ones with less pieces are obviously easier for her, but she is getting better with the bigger ones too. The jigsaw puzzles are also helping with her spacial awareness as she has to try to work out which way round the pieces go and then fit them in. She still needs help with this, but it surprises me how dextrous she is becoming while playing with the jigsaws. They also help with communication and recognition as we talk about the characters while she is putting them together. ---And Finally: These are a firm favourite in our house and my daughter is constantly asking to 'do the jigsaws'. They are fun and educational and although, like most of her toys, say they are suitable for over 3s, I think these are fine from 30 months as my daughter or even younger as they can be done with an adult to get more out of them. I have seen them for around £13 which seems a bit expensive, but you are getting 6 puzzles in the box which provide a lot of fun. I would definitely recommend them but wish they had come in a smaller box already separated!
