Head 6 Pack of Tennis Balls
by m_illie
While I would like to pretend I play tennis all the time, though I do from time to time, more often than not I buy tennis balls for my Westie Quincy. I have however gone out to my local park where we have 4 tennis courts in the warmer months with my boyfriend in a big to get fit and when I got fed up with that (as I often do) that's when ... these became Quincy's favourite plaything. In terms of using them for actual tennis they are light but not overly so and manage to perform well even on our quite dodgy tennis court surface. They have quite a decent bounce but unlike some cheaper tennis balls I have used they also do have a bit of weight to them which I find makes the game a little more fun as you aren't constantly running after lost balls when they go AWOL. For my own use they are perfect however I'm unsure how well they might fare in a more professional setting, although in fairness like I said the surface I often play on isn't exactly perfect and they are fine there.
One thing I noticed about these tennis balls in particular was their durability. I've owned mine since last summer and though some are a little brown from being out in the garden, they are still in perfect working order and the felt has remained on them very much in tact. This is also quite something when considering how often my dog is spotted with a tennis ball as he frolics around the garden, although he is more of a 'carrier' than a 'chewer' so I'm unsure if they would last for this kind of use if you dog were the latter.
These tennis balls comes in two pressurised containers of three. They look quite professional and would make a good gift if whomever you are gifting them to is a particularly sporty person. The lid simply pops off and you can easily store them away back in the container after use, although mine are all stranded in the garden! The tubes are quite thin however and may not last all that long if you don't look after them.
They cost me £4.99 from Argos when I purchased them there last year with a racket when I was interested in taking up the sport. I thought this was a very reasonable price and especially in terms of the quality you get for the price. For a brand name this is also quite reasonable however for a no-name pack of tennis balls you could probably get them much cheaper at the expense of quality.
Overall I think these are excellent tennis balls. I get a lot of use out of them when I need them and when its a little too cold for me to bother getting active (like right now if I'm honest!) my dog can get lots of fun out of them and so do I throwing them for him to catch when we're out and about in the garden or the park. I think the price is very reasonable for their quality, and they are long lasting and of high durability. Read the complete review |

Wilson Advantage Triple Tennis Racket Bag
by anwar7
My son is a keen tennis player and often takes part in tournaments. He has two tennis racquets that he takes with him when he plays as you never know when a string will break! Until recently he had a very smart Wilson Advantage triple tennis racquet bag to help transport all he needed to head off for a days tournament.
The ... bag he has is black with white lettering. There is a large *W* at one end of the bag with the Wilson name at the other. The bag measures 28 inches in length and 12 inches in height. It is designed to carry three tennis racquets without covers. The main compartment has a long zip and is fairly well padded inside to protect your racquets from knocks. At the front of the bag is a small zipped compartment that is useful for keeping small items such as keys or an ipod! There is a full length carry strap so the bag can be carried over your shoulder. There is also a grab handle to make picking up the bag easy.
The bag is designed to carry up to three racquets although this would be a bit of a tight squash. My son usually takes two racquets when he plays and these fit into the bag with room to spare. He also likes to take a water bottle, spare shorts and t shirt and a few snacks. All this can be fitted into the bag, although it is a bit tight! The colour of the bag means that it doesn't show the dirt; tennis racquet bags can get very grubby after a while when you consider they are dumped at the side of clay or astro turf courts. The sand used on astro turf courts really stains so a dark coloured bag is best!
The bag is made from a strong nylon material and is easy to wipe clean. It has experienced many soakings and has always kept its contents dry. It has also been useful on the rare occasions when it has been hot, keeping my sons lunch cool.
Unfortunately, after several years of service the zip to the main compartment broke recently. I am disappointed as I had thought the bag was really robust. Zips are often a weak point as they get a lot of use. I bought the bag from our county club shop and think I paid around £20. I will now have to buy a new bag and will probably look for one that is slightly bigger .Overall this is a decent bag for the cost, although it is bit small. Read the complete review |

Wilson Pro Comp Tennis Racket
by user789
After playing tennis with my friends racket for a few weeks (he didn't need it. He was injured) I decided to buy a decent racket for myself as I was becoming a tennis freak.
But the thing is my friends racket is one of those really expensive ones so getting used to a much cheaper one was going to be a challenge. So I decide to buy a ... mid-priced racket with similar behaviour to my friends one.
So I went on Amazon to get one as their prices are very competitive comparing with the high Street. Then I was quickly attracted by the yellow and black design of this Wilson racket, but what attracted me the most was the price of around £30.
The delivery was as expected so no criticism goes to Amazon. When it did arrive I was dying to try it out with my friends. And when I did I was very impressed with the lightweight and size of this racket which makes it a dream to play with whether you are serving or during a really fast rally.
I was also pleased by the build quality of this racket as the all the wires are nice and tightly put together and after 3 months of use I have yet to have a problem with it.
The quality of the frame is also great as I have dropped it and scraped it on the floor a few times and only scratches have appeared on the paint. The handle however could have been made with more grip as sweaty hands seem to lose control slightly. Read the complete review |
