Artengo Rollnet Table Tennis Set
by azana
For sport on the go it doesn't get much better than this Table Tennis set which can be played pretty well on any table you want, and which is one of the best things we've bought this year. As a family we may well be way off Olympics level but at £9.99 currently at Decathlon (rrp £19.99) it's an inexpensive buy. Decathlon seems to be ... the only place that stock this brand as far as I can tell - you can purchase online or in store as we did, as a bit of an impulse buy. It has got us started playing table tennis and is getting lots of use. It's available in lots of different colour combinations - we chose green, with replacement bats being a reasonable £1.99, should we ever need them. The product itself comes with a 2 year guarantee.
In the set, which is very compact and comes in two little 22cm by 16cm sturdy carry cases which are 10cm deep when velcroed together (not pictured here but can be seen on the decathlon site, link at the end of this review), you get all you need for play - a net, two midi sized rackets and 3 brightly coloured balls. The design of the net is the cleverest thing, it rolls out, to a length of up to 2metres and the two poles have spring loaded clips on the bottom which means that it automatically adjusts to any thickness of table, up to about 5cm thick. Installing the net is a breeze and, once in place, it stays firmly put during play. We've used it indoors on a circular round glass table as well as on varied outdoor picnic tables from that in our own garden to various ones out and about. Once you have finished play it takes less than a minute to pack everything away tidily.
Clearly, when using this set you are not necessarily going to be conforming to official table tennis rules, though circular table tennis is certainly an interesting variation on the traditional game in my experience. By my measurements the net height itself does, however, seem the same as the official 15.25cm one prescribed by the international table tennis federation. It's not a set to be used for more than fun but, in my opinion, for the price you pay it is pretty well made and enjoyable for all participants to use. The bats themselves have rubber faces in two different colours and, again, are not a standard competition size. They work well though and you can get quite some speed up with them; they give a fairly authentic experience of playing and are certainly a step above a toy. They have rubbered sides which do mean that the table you play with is slightly protected in case of impact. The handles are a little small at only 7cm long, but with this set it's all about transportability and fun - you literally can play wherever and however you want. The set is so small it's easily slipped into a picnic bag or case; the solid plastic lids and zippers keep everything well protected.
I think that for the price that I paid this set is excellent, it's a great introduction to the sport and could be worth buying before in investing in a proper table, which is going to be a lot more expensive. A combination of clever design, good build quality and the fact that it's just plain fun to play with make this table tennis set a great buy in my opinion - I highly recommend it.

Head 6 Pack of Tennis Balls
by kama0529
Now that the summer months are here and the tennis is back on the TV, my older kids and I are back to being interested in playing tennis and pretending to be as good as Nadal or Federer. We are lucky enough to have community tennis courts about 200 metres from our house and so around this time every year, we become interested in playing ... tennis again. None of us are serious tennis players and so it really isn't worth spending a lot of money on our tennis equipment. I opted to buy a tube of Head 6 Pack of Tennis Balls because they are the right price and also because they are a decent product for the price. A Head 6 Pack of Tennis Balls currently costs only £4.99 from Argos (www.argos.co.uk) and I feel this is a really great price as it equates to only about 80p per ball.
The balls come in a tin style tube which stores the balls between uses. It has a pop on and pop off style lid and so it does keep the balls secure when then are being stored in the tube and so it's not a matter of having to rummage around to try to find a loose tennis ball. Each tube contains 3 balls and so you don't need to lug around all six balls at any one time unless you feel there is a need for that. The tube is also pressurised and so this means that the tube will help to prevent the balls from going flat prematurely.
The balls are the traditional yellow and they have Head Championships printed on the balls. Like most tennis balls, they are yellow as this means that they are easy to see regardless of the surface you're playing on and also in poorer light conditions. I'm not an expert with tennis balls quality, but certainly for the purposes of knocking around with family and friends these balls are absolutely fine and they are robust enough to last several months. After a while the yellow surface of the balls does become very worn and eventually even bold - and so they will periodically need replacing.
Overall, I think these Head Tennis Balls are perfectly fine for general use. I'm sure they would not be something that would be used by the professionals, but we're not all Nadal! Read the complete review |

Head 6 Pack of Tennis Balls
by jlaker1992
Introduction:
I am a huge fan of tennis and my grandparents have there own tennis court, they are too old to use it now, but my family meet up quite a lot to have a game! We had the same tennis balls for years and they were completely rubbish. we decided to get a lot more and were looking for something cheap and cheerful. ... These were on sale at sports direct for £1 for a plastic container of 6. Im sure they were more expensive somewhere else, but we decided to get 5 packs so we had lots to last us for the year. Looking on the internet, a pack can cost you more than triple than what we paid so Im rather happy. I will now go into a little more detail on the product.
Packaging:
They come in a large plastic container which tells you what to do with them etc. It says head and you get 6 per plastic container. The container is handy to store the balls after you have played as it keeps them in good condition and easy to store in the cupboard. These balls were not pressurised like more expesnive ones but this doesn't bother me as I am not brilliant at tennis and just wanted a few balls to play with. The balls themselfs have the word head written on them. Head is a famous brand for tennis equipement and I also own two Head tennis raquets which play very well.
how do they play:
They play very well, they are not too bouncy and not too hard. Some cheap balls I had bought in the past had a terrible bounce and wouldnt get off the ground. These have also been very durable and after almost 2 months they seem to play just as good as the start. I understand you should change balls quiet regulary but I don't play too often (2 or 3 times a month) so they work for me. these balls are great for a knock about. If you are a serious tennis player/expert these may not be for you. These may be better for the dogs after a few weeks of play! I don't have anything to complain about with these as I paid a very cheap sale price for them. I probably would not pay full price for them (I would buy other ones on offer )
Overall:
These balls have been very good for the price that I paid. They have lasted a while now and work well. I have lost a couple due to some terribly overpowered volleys, but apart from that I cannot complain. I would recommend this to anyone who likes to play a little bit of tennis or just likes using tennis balls for games of catch or garden cricket! These are very useful and great for kids and adults. Once they have lost there tennis playing life you can always chuck them to your dogs who would apreciate that! Thanks for reading my review, I hope it helped. Very happy with my purchase!
