“ Manufacturer: Wilson / Type: Tennis „
My son is a keen tennis player and often takes part in tournaments. He has two tennis racquets that he takes with him when he plays as you never know when a string will break! Until recently he had a very smart Wilson Advantage triple tennis racquet bag to help transport all he needed to head off for a days tournament.
The bag he has is black with white lettering. There is a large *W* at one end of the bag with the Wilson name at the other. The bag measures 28 inches in length and 12 inches in height. It is designed to carry three tennis racquets without covers. The main compartment has a long zip and is fairly well padded inside to protect your racquets from knocks. At the front of the bag is a small zipped compartment that is useful for keeping small items such as keys or an ipod! There is a full length carry strap so the bag can be carried over your shoulder. There is also a grab handle to make picking up the bag easy.
The bag is designed to carry up to three racquets although this would be a bit of a tight squash. My son usually takes two racquets when he plays and these fit into the bag with room to spare. He also likes to take a water bottle, spare shorts and t shirt and a few snacks. All this can be fitted into the bag, although it is a bit tight! The colour of the bag means that it doesn't show the dirt; tennis racquet bags can get very grubby after a while when you consider they are dumped at the side of clay or astro turf courts. The sand used on astro turf courts really stains so a dark coloured bag is best!
The bag is made from a strong nylon material and is easy to wipe clean. It has experienced many soakings and has always kept its contents dry. It has also been useful on the rare occasions when it has been hot, keeping my sons lunch cool.
Unfortunately, after several years of service the zip to the main compartment broke recently. I am disappointed as I had thought the bag was really robust. Zips are often a weak point as they get a lot of use. I bought the bag from our county club shop and think I paid around £20. I will now have to buy a new bag and will probably look for one that is slightly bigger .Overall this is a decent bag for the cost, although it is bit small.
