These ddr3 units are very quick for the money. i picked up an 8gb set of 2*4gb ram sticks for £44.99. There are extremely fast and they have been great for over clocking. The heat sink that has been built on (and looks really rather cool i might add) keeps the ram temperatures down very nicely and also protects the ram unit by allowing you to pick up the ram via the heat sink. This should help reduce the chance of shorting the unit via static charge through your hands.
For those of you who have clean computer cases and want to show off these will not disappoint, with blue, red, black and green colour options available (although the green was limited edition so may be hard to find).
These have been in daily use with my system for just over a year now and so far i have had no performance issues or any problems with reliability, baring in mind that i have these ram modules over clocked to 2000mhz with their factory heatsinks.
Corsair in my opinion is the best manufacturer for top performance RAM; I've recently had the privilege of using the vengeance range. This was handed to me by a friend who was getting rid of his old computer parts; I saw this set of RAM in the bundle of things that he wanted to bin! I just had to have it so after politely asking him I took this home and decided to give it a try. I took my old Kingston's out and put the new set of RAM in, installation took all of 20 seconds and that includes taking the side of the case off.
Once the new RAM was installed I of course then proceeded to switch the computer on, at first I didn't seem to notice much difference but as I started opening up more programs and multi-tasking more extensively this is when the difference became more noticeable. Switching between programs became more fluid every switch just seemed instant like it was already on screen in the first place.
This particular range of RAM is designed to be used with the latest CPU's and it is recommended that you pick a relatively new quad core processor. According to the Corsair website you can purchase this range with each stick of RAM being as high as 8GB so you could easily have 32GB in 4 slots. As things stands though 16GB is really all you will need.
When it comes to running my games this memory kit does it fantastically, I play most of the new high end games which are both graphic and RAM heavy. I easily play mmorpg's which do require a fair amount of RAM to help load the wide maps. The 1600 MHz is really fast and believe it or not you can actually get much faster!
Corsair do manufacture their products well and I have never known anyone to complain about any of their products, I am no different as I have fallen in love with this RAM and to top it off it looks pretty good too, not just a green stick like the days of old. I believe that you can get this particular memory kit for around £60 if you shop around online.
For now this kit has blown me away and I know I couldn't be happier, I would recommend this to anyone looking for an upgrade. There are smaller cheaper kits for people not looking to have so much RAM or to upgrade a piece at a time.
