      A nice mild beef curry

I often buy Asda ready meals and this Beef curry is in their frozen meals section. You can mix and match meals at a cost of 5 for £4.00 or to buy on its own the cost is about £1.30. I have to admit, this is a good deal and means each ready meals costs less than a £1.00. Therefore in all fairness to Asda, I wouldn't expect these ready meals to taste amazing.

I love my curries and frequently eat them, both cooked from home and sometimes supermarket bought. I usually like a hot curry though and initially I didn't realise that this one is mild. Actually it's a bit too mild for me and perhaps that's the problem; perhaps that is why I am not greatly keen on it.

It tastes similar to other supermarket names ready meal curries of a similar price and as my heading states.... Its ok. I can't say its better than ok, but its fine to eat. It isn't hot at all and to me tastes a little spiced but very mild really. You do get a reasonable amount of small cubes of beef but not quite enough rice in my view. The sauce is of a good consistency and is quite thick.

If you like your curries mild than you will probably quite like this and its also cheap as chips. However, it doesn't really fill me up and I think it would be best to have this with some extra Indian style starters... perhaps with some Popadums, onion bhajees and Bombay potatoes.

      Cooking
      *********

I usually cook these sort of ready meals in the microwave; its one of the reasons I buy them! This meal takes about 8 minutes altogether to cook depending on your microwave wattage.

If you prefer you can cook it in the oven from frozen which takes about 45 minutes.

There are no artificial colours, flavours or hydrogenated fats.

      Would I buy this again?

Possibly, as it's a quick fair meal, tastes reasonably good but just not to my hotness re spiciness.
