Advantages: A delicious variation on the traditional scotch egg.

Disadvantages: The packaging is a bit naff!

After deciding that regardless of the weather on bank holiday Monday, we were going on a picnic, even if it meant sitting the back of the car to eat it....which in fairness at times we did!

Now I do love a picnic, but I tend to go over the top food wise, with the product I will now review being one of the many, many things I purchased for this purpose!

The product I will now review is - "Asda - 12 mini chicken tikka bites".

The particular product is available as part of a "2 for £3.00" offer that is currently running, in part I assume due to everyone having the same idea as me!

The packaging is pretty sparse looking, with each round "bite" being held within it's own space in the plastic tray, then wrapped within a clear cellophane packet, so once opened these will either have t be eaten (very easy to do to!) or simply transferred into another container and covered!

To look at these look like mini scotch eggs, which in fairness after eating one they are, except where the egg would usually be there is a generous helping of thick and bright orange coloured chicken tikka sauce.

The taste is delicious, from the slightly textured bread crumbed outer shell, through to the meaty inner shell, this is then spiced up but not unbearably so, with the spicy tikka paste, this really is a lovely addition to the picnic hamper.
After reading the product description on the back of the pack, I was surprised to find that the spicy filling is actually cream cheese with some spice added, this does not taste in the slightest bit cheesy!
