“ Brand: Asda / Type: Other Ready Meals „
I have been trying to eat healthy at work while also keeping an eye on the cost as healthy pre-packed food seems to cost a fortune and i sometimes don't have time to prepare it myself, after seeing these Asda salads at £2 each or 2 for £3 i thought that was a reasonable price and bought a couple.
A rather large square clear plastic box with a peel off sellothain lid, a label on the top tells you it's a fresh ham and free range egg salad, also on the lid is the Asda logo a £2 or 2 for £3 flash and a best before date, usually with 1 or 2 days left on it.
Inside The Box
There is a large packet of unbranded salad cream and a folded fork in the box, looking at the salad it's self you see a boiled egg chopped in half a folded slice of ham and a couple of cherry tomatoes all sat on a good layer of Iceberg lettuce, under this you get some diced cucumber.
This is quite a large salad box and it looks very nice, the lid peels off easy and in one piece, the fork unfolds and locks open easily but it could be a bit bigger, the large packet of salad cream is just the job for this big salad and it's very tasty.
The slice of processed ham is decent quality and the boiled egg is yummy the lettuce is nice and crisp and the cucumber is juicy, but the best part is the sweet and juicy tomatoes exploding with flavour, put all this together and you get a very tasty and very filling fresh salad for £1.50p, an absolute bargain in my opinion.
Any bad points? Well i know it's not good for you but i little pack of salt for those who want it would be nice, and i have ate one of these salads just after midnight on the best before date and the lettuce was starting to wilt a bit, but technically it was out of date.
A good quality large salad at a very good pice, well worth a try.

I recently purchased this pre-packed salad from asda for my lunch. it cost £2 to buy which I feel is an acceptable price for a salad. The presentation was good as prior to purchase I looked it over and all the leaves appeared fresh with no signs of spoiling. You are supplied with usual folding fork which is adequate for the job in hand of eating the salad as the prongs can puncture and pick up the cherry tomato's. When I ate the salad there was 3 days left prior to expiry.
The salad consisted of iceberg lettuce, cherry tomato's, salad cream sachet, ham and boiled egg. The lettuce was fresh and crispy, the cherry tomato's were firm and the ham and egg was really tasty.

Overall this was a very tasty salad at a very resonable price and I would advise it to people who need a quick lunch or enjoy salads. The ingredients were fresh and the slad cream tasty.
