A really delicious chicken breast kebab!

I am always shopping at Asda and they have so much food to choose from! I sometimes in fact, often end up buying the same old foods but ive started to look around a bit more. By chance, my partner spotted these Lime & Chilli kebabs. There was only one packet left on the shelf. We have tried another of Asda's lime chicken dishes so thought this one would be good too.

You get 4 skewers of chicken breast; each skewer has around 4 largish chunks of good quality chicken breast fillet on it. The flavouring tempted me in buying these. I thought the lime mixed with chilli on the chicken would be very tasty. All you need to do is cook the kebabs under the grill for 16-18 minutes on a medium heat and turn occasionally. You can also cook them in the oven if you prefer for about 20 minutes. The first time I cooked them I accidentally over cooked them as I wanted to make sure the chicken was cooked properly; unfortunately they came out just a bit too dry on that occasion (although still great tasting). The second time, they came out just perfect. The flavour of the lime & chilli is fantastic; its not too bitter or tangy or anything like that. I also love lemon juice on chicken such as this, so I think its tastes even better with a little lemon juice squeezed onto the kebabs. Me and my partner really love these kebabs and we have them with a side salad and new potatoes with butter.

What is also good about this dish is that its not too filling; the whole meal that we have is fairly light; keeps you going and is good for those on a diet (without the butter on the potatoes though! Or use low fat spread perhaps). We have two of the skewers each and we find that this is just right. There are about 160 kcals per 2 kebab skewer servings.

One word of warning about cooking under the grill; the wooden ends of the skewers get incredibly hot and I burnt myself the first time I made them when trying to turn over! So make sure you use a tea towel when handling the ends or use tongs perhaps to turn the meat.

These kebabs cost £2.60 each or two packets for £5.00 (not much of a saving on two packets). However, I think this is a pretty reasonable price as the kebabs really are delicious.

This is now one of my favourite foods; highly recommend; 5 Dooyoo stars.
