Advantages: Really tasty sausages

Disadvantages: Yorkshire pud went a big soggy at the bottom

I have been buying many aunt bessie products recently, I don't usually buy much frozen food, but aunt bessies stuff is really nice and I have been impressed with everything I have bought so far. I was looking for a quick and easy meal the other day in tescos, and I really didn't want to cook, and when I saw this aunt bessie toad in the hole I thought it would be perfect with some tescos finest mash, as you just shove the toad in the hole in the oven, the mash in the microwave and I wouldn't have to make much of an effort to cook!

I paid around £1.40 for this toad in the hole, which I thought was expensive really as it wouldn't feed both me and my boyfriend as you only got 2 sausages, so I bought two, one each.

All I had to do with this toad in the hole was take it out of the packaging and place it on a baking tray in the oven at 220 degrees for 25-30 minutes. I left mine in a bit longer than this, as the sausages didn't feel piping hot inside after just 30 minutes, mine took about 40 minutes.

The pastry is the same as any normal yorkshire pudding, it was crispy on the edges but had gone a bit soggy on the bottom, but I don't mind it like this, but my boyfriend hated it. You get a decent size portion, and it did fill us up. We usually buy sausages with a high meat content from the finest range, so I was worried whether these sausages were going to be any good, but they were really tasty and didn't taste cheap. They are 58% meat, which isn't too bad, but I do prefer them with a higher meat content.

This toad in the hole went really well with our mashed potato, peas and gravy. Per pack there are 483 calories which I suppose is quite a lot when you are having other things with it too, it makes it quite a high calorie meal.

This product needs to be kept frozen, and cooked straight from the freezer, you cant defrost it!

I will definitely buy this toad in the hole again, it was a really nice quick and easy meal, and great to keep in your freezer when you have forgotten to take something out for tea the next day.

Another highly recommended product from the aunt bessie range!

Summary: Quick and easy meal!
