... the instructions just add milk, water and butter (optional) I added the butter for a bit of extra taste. The first time i used this product i was really concerned that the sauce was going to be too runny but as i was plating the rest of the food up i noticed that the sauce began to thicken (if i had read the whole of the instructions i would've known this!) I found this product very tasty and an excellent accompliment to my stuffed chilli chicken and brocoli. I have also since eaten this product on its own with a...more

I just had one of these for lunch and was inspired to review the product. I have been eating Batchelors Pasta n Sauces for many years now since an old friend introduced me to them! There are loads of different flavours; Chicken & Mushroom, Cheese, Leek & Ham, Macaroni Cheese, Mild Cheese * Broccoli, Tomato & Herb and Chicken & Roasted Garlic. They occasionally intoduce a special edition flavour and now do a variety using wholewheat pasta. I have not tried all the flavours, I tend to stick with what I know I like (which is unusual for me - I like to experiment with food!) The CHicken & Roasted Garlic flavour Pasta n Sauce is ...  Read the complete review

Im not a food snob by any stretch of the imagination but like most people I do like food to taste good. I dont normally eat ready meals or microwavable food but the other day when coming home from work I was in a rush and found one of these iPasta and Sauces left in the cupboard by my brother. Being in a rush this was a quick and easy meal to prepare, the instructions were very easy. You simply add milk, water and optional butter(i added this as I thought it would add more flavour) and heat over the hob for around 8minutes. When heating it on the hob it seemed to take for ever for the pasta to cook and the sauce to thicken, but I think their time ...  Read the complete review

Batchelors Pasta and Sauce - Chicken and Garlic: Stinky n pasta (494 words)

"Pasta whirls in a delicious chicken and roasted garlic flavour sauce" it said, are they sure they even tasted this product. I brought this as a 2 for £1 deal at ASDA so I dread to think what the other flavour - tomato and herbs tastes and smells like compared to this. I honestly think it would not be that bad but I should have kind of guessed with a title like chicken and roasted garlic that this was going to be vile. As soon as I opened the packet it just stunk, can't really describe the smell but it was not pleasant and it was really a strong lingering smell, don't think it even smelt of garlic or chicken it just wanted to make me hurl. ...  Read the complete review

Lunch for one (261 words)

Well, I have just finished eating one of these for my lunch! I have also tried some of the other flavours (Mild Cheese and Broccoli and Tomato and Herb, being two that spring to mind). The things about this product that i liked was the fact that it is a quick and easy lunch for one (which is why I had it, as my children where at school and nursery and i was eating alone!). It is simple to make, tip the pasta and powdered sauce into a pan add 4oz of milk and 1/2 a pint of water and simmer. The recipe on the back of the packet recommends adding butter, but I never do this as I feel that this is a very unhealthy meal and do not want to add any more fat to the product, ...  Read the complete review

Batchelors Pasta and Sauce - Chicken and Garlic: Quick, convienient and a brilliant taste! (270 words)

A quick and easy meal that is useful as a quick snack or as part of a main meal. The packet comes equipped with the pasta [each flavour has a different variety of pasta] and the sauce that is stated on the front of the packet. This Chicken and Garlic flavour is a richly flavoured meal that I thoroughly enjoyed. The sauce thickens as it is cooking, and is of an excellent texture and taste. This pasta packet only takes around ten minutes to cook, and the sauce thickens after it has been put into the bowl or on the plate in which it is being served. It makes a great accompaniment to any dish, such as part of a pasta salad, but I really enjoyed eating ...  Read the complete review
