We like to try new foods in our house and especially when they come with a good price tag. We have had a few of the normal Birds Eye Curries such as the standard Chicken one and the Beef one, and didn't know it came in another Curry flavouring until we spotted this one about 6 weeks ago in the freezers of Tesco.
These meals normally cost around £1.40, but this was on offer for £1 so we thought we would try a couple. I woudln't say that £1.40 is that expensive for a Microwave Curry, but when Asda's one is just as good and costs £1 all the time for the same weight, then you have to think is it worth the extra money?
This came in the normal plastic tray. The Rice was on 1 side, and the Chicken in the Curry Sauce was on the other. It cooked in 8 minutes in the microwave.
This made a nice enough snack. Not that filling for a main meal, I would say 2 of these would do nicely just for me!
The Rice was nice. It seemed a bit sticky and I thought this would all stick together and not be nice, but it was alright. At least it wasn't too hard anyway. We spoon the Rice on the bottom of the plate and pput the Curry over it. The Sauce was quite thick but not that much and it was a lightly spiced taste. Just like any other Korma. There was a light Coconut taste to this and it was nice. The Chicken was decent sized Chicken Breast chunks. i would have liked a few more chunks as I think there was only 5 in here and 3 were smaller than the other ones.
A nice quick enough snack that is a bit more healthy for you than a Burger and Chips.
