“ Brand: Burger King / Type: Other Ready Meals „
From time to time, Burger King release special editions of their famous burger, The Whopper. One of these releases was the Texican Whopper, and I can only hope that they bring it back as it really was an amazing burger!
The Texican Whopper was a normal whopper, but it also had cajun mayonaisse, onions, jalapenos, lettuce and chilli con carne coated in a taco! It was truly an amazing burger, with a wonderful blend of tastes and textures that just blew your mind, and your mouth away!
The spice wasn't too much to handle, but still enough to let you know that it was there. The Jalapenos were always really fresh and juicy too. You could also get this Whopper with an extra burger in it, but to be honest this one was so big it was a bit of a tackler to eat anyway, stick another burger in there and you are going to need a knife and fork just to try and eat it lol.
You could buy this on its own, or as part of a meal with fries and a drink. This was a little bit expensive, but oh so worth it! Especially if you paid out an extra £1 for the Chilli Cheese Bites ( They should keep these FOREVER!) as they made THE perfect accompeniment to this burger!
The calories and fat in this burger are astronomical, so I recommend not eating them very often, as it really is not healthy! Enjoy one as a treat as part of healthy, balanced diet and active lifestyle (sounds like a TV commerical!!! LOL)
If you like spicey foods, then I recommend grabbing one of these lovely burgers if Burger King has the sense to bring them back again. Who knows, they have bought back the Angry Whopper and The Dark Whopper a couple of times, so we could be very lucky!
The Texican Whopper is the king of burgers, by far the best burger I have ever bought from any fast food outlet.
Firstly I will describe what makes up the Texican Whopper. Inside the sesame seed bun you have got a burger, topped with cheese, then a chilli con carne coated with taco, then a layer of jalapenos, onions at lettuce and then finally some cajun mayonaise.
As you can probably tell from the description, the burger is quite hot as the chilli con carne, jalapenos and onions give it a kick so if you don't like more spicy food then this probably isn't the burger for you. However, it certainly isn't overly spicy so if you don't mind a bit of heat in your food then you will probably enjoy this burger.
I think that the flavours work very well together, and the different textures throughout the burger also made for an interesting meal. I particularly enjoyed the generous portion of jalapenos and onions as this provided extra crunch as well as really adding to the overall flavour. In many ways, the beef burger itself becomes secondary to all of the other tastes and flavours that make up the Texican Whopper and you could easily forget it was there. I don't think that this is a bad thing though and you can always get a double Texican Whopper if you want some extra meat.
A downside of the Texican Whopper is the price. I am always reluctant to pay over £5 for a value meal in a fast food restaurant and this does cost over £5, with the double Texican coming in at over £6. Generally, I suggest that this is far too much to be paying for this kind of meal, but for the Texican Whopper I would certainly make an exception. The size of the burger is enourmous, and I really felt that I was getting what I paid for.
Obviously, eating a Texican Whopper is not the healthiest of meals, but as an occasional treat, I think that this is easily the best thing to buy from a fast food restaurant, as long as you don't mind a bit of spice.
