Okay if your in a hurry, but not 5 star cuisine!

I tried this lasagne for the first time yesterday. I was looking for something to cook which could also be microwaved at this caught my eye (and for £1 I thought it was also pretty good value too).

On the box, it claims to be "Britain's no1 lasagne". I'm not sure how they compile those figures, but unfortunately I wouldn't agree with this statement.

The cooking options were either 45-50 minutes on gas mark 6, or 8 minutes in the microwave.. I chose the microwave option!

Upon removing the product from the microwave and peeling back the lid, I thought the top layer of the lasagne looked a little gloopy and not that appetising if I'm honest! I scooped it all out onto the plate and had a taste. I was initially impressed it was cooked so well throughout, considering in an oven it would have taken nearly an hour to do, and the taste seemed okay. However compared to other brands of lasagnes, such as Spar own brand (a favourite of mine) and Sainsbury's, Findus's brand really didn't compare. The meat was a bit lumpy and stuck together in places, and so I didn't end up eating all of it. Also, the bottom sheet of pasta had frazzled and was too hard to even cut (even though I cooked it to the exact recommendation time).

Overall, I did enjoy eating it, and it didn't give me food poisoning or anything like that, but I believe there are far better brands out there. I know at £1 I can't complain too much, but even still I'd say they could do with revising the recipe.
