Healthy, yummy bean burgers for vegetarians, vegans and even meat-eaters.

This is a review of the Grassington's spicy bean burgers.

I've managed to buy these from Sainsbury's and Morrison's. You get 4 burgers in the box and they usually cost around £2 although sometimes they're on offer - two for £3.

They're suitable for vegetarians and vegans. They contain 199 calories per burger.

You can bake these in the oven or you can grill them. I prefer to oven bake mine as I can cook chips at the same time.

They don't give off any unpleasant odours while cooking and smell very appetising once cooked. They go well in a burger bun or on their own. I like a blob of ketchup with mine.

The outside of the burger is quite crumbly so have a plate handy to catch the crumbs but the inside is moist without being soggy. They're not too spicy so Grassington's have got the combination of herbs and spices right.

Once cooked they do look like the picture on the box! You can clearly see the vegetables inside and they look like good quality ingredients.

I think they taste great. They're not too chewy or dry. The only vegetables that seem to have an obvious taste are the beans so overall, a perfect veggie burger!

I've taken these to BBQs and a few of the meat-eaters preferred these over the beef burgers that were also available. Of course they don't taste like a meat burger but, for meat-eaters, they'd make a nice change to your regular burgers.

      From the Grassington's website:
"A sure favourite has to be our Spicy Bean Burgers. A tasty combination of mixed beans with crunchy red and green peppers, in a tasty herb crumb. We're keeping healthy eating interesting!"
