Advantages: Very Cheap, Easy to make
Disadvantages: Not so Tasty
This is as cheap as you can get for a full roast dinner I think! Iceland is selling this entire meal for 1.75. The contents include 3 slices of beef (2 if you buy lamb), a Yorkshire pudding, couple of baby potatoes and your peas and carrots, all drenched in gravy.
Now as most would expect, its not going to be one of the best meals you've had when it comes to taste. I mean what can you expect really for that price. But just add a little salt and black pepper and it starts tasting alright.
The cooking instructions vary: if you're popping it in the oven (which I would advise, as the Yorkshire pudding gets stiff really quickly in the microwave), then you need to cook it for 40-45 minutes depending on your oven- whether its fan assisted or not. Or you can microwave it for 10-12 minutes. All you need to do is remove it from the box and place it in the oven with the plastic on. Be careful when removing the plastic, the steam just gushes out...I learned the hard way!!! And you're ready to eat!
If you're strapped for cash, and fancy a roast dinner, without the preparation, then it's definitely a try..you might actually like it!
Summary: Roast Dinner for under 2 pounds!!
