Advantages: Slighty spicy southern fried flavour, soft potato, great value
Disadvantages: None
I shop in Iceland quite a bit for frozen food and they're own make of southern fried potato wedges is the thing that I buy most in there.
These are made from soft potato which is cooked in southern fried spices to give the wedges a delicious and slightly spicy flavour. The curved side of the wedges still have some of the potato skin left on but this isn't hard or even detectable when eating them so for those who don't like potato skins you won't even notice it.
They take around 20 minutes to cook in the oven and when cooked the potato inside is soft and fluffy but the outside is quite crisp and gives off the most tasty southern fried flavour which is what makes these so lovely. You do need to be careful though as I often end up overcooking these even just slightly and this turns them too crispy and nowhere near as nice as they should be.
These are just so nice and I think they're much tastier than other brands of potato wedges even the McCain ones which have quite a bit of hard skin left on and not as much flavour as the Iceland ones. They're also much cheaper than McCain's wedges costing only £1 for a huge bag full which is excellent value.
Iceland's southern fried potato wedges are so delicious. They're tastier than McCain's and cheaper than McCain's which means that they really can't be beaten.
Summary: I would never buy a different brand of these
