I have never really been interested in Haggis but we got a vegetarian one as a gift and we decided to give it a go. On the day we received it, it was just chilled, but we froze it and ate it at a later date. You have to defrost it thoroughly before you cook it though. There are cooking instructions on the packet, which we followed and it turned out perfectly. We wrapped it in foil and placed it in an ovenproof dish with a couple of centimeters of water in the bottom. So it's very easy to cook. Macsween are Scotland's best known haggis producer. They have been producing traditional haggis for over 50 years and the vegetarian haggis for 25 years and export both of these products worldwide. The vegetarian haggis is a mixture of kidney beans, lentils, nuts, turnip, vegetarian margerine, onion and oats all minced finely and encased in a man made plastic casing.
