These come in a fold-over, microwaveable cardboard box. Apparantly, the silver side is to help them cook better. Errrrr. Well anyway, they take only five minutes in the microwave. You get about fifteen chips in one box. Terrible. lol. I advise you have something to eat with them, as unless you're feeling bloated, these won't suffice. I prefer the crinkle cut version. As with beetroot, too :) lol. Mum buy's these, not me. I buy other brands of chip, as I find these bland as hell. I only eat them, if my mum puts some with a meal we're having. You will either need lots of sauce, or lots of spaghetti coating these chips, as they are just not good.

Being a student, I often buy foods that are similar to this style of microwavable meal range. The taste and quality of this product is not something that's going to blow you away or I would serve to impress someone. However, I find this kind of snack rather enjoyable as it's similar to the products found in fast food outlets. For me I ... Read the complete review

For a few days I did not have the use of my cooker due to an electrical fault with a switch. Unfortunately this meant I had no choice but to live on Microwave food! Mind you, I do eat microwave food occasionally so it wasn't the end of the world. However, I had never even considered buying or eating Microwave Chips! I was ... Read the complete review

*** This was a product I started buying as a teen, and has found its own space in my freezer ever since. McCain Microchips are frozen chips that can be cooked at home by simply popping them in the microwave for a few minutes...and voila it's like having McDonalds in your own home...well not quite! I remember I ... Read the complete review

McCain's Micro Chips take no effort to cook. Just pop them in a microwave for 3 minutes and press start. The problem with that though is that in my experience3 minutes is rarely enough. If you stick to this recommendation, more often than not they come out undercooked which obviously alters the taste quality. Now I accept that this might ... Read the complete review

Microchips are are one of those products that I sneak in my trolley from time to time.......and I say sneak because I always feel a little bit ashamed of buying them! Let's face it, they are one of those products that are designed for lazy people who don't care about eating quality food.......but sometimes, I'm afraid, it seems that I am ... Although I am a big fan of McCain chips in general, I only use their micro chips if I'm in a rush to prepare a meal. They are very convenient as they only take about 4 minutes to cook two boxes (obviously dependant on what power your microwave has). Most supermarkets sell micro chips in their frozen section. In shops near me ... Read the complete review

I used to eat these a lot years ago when I was at college and school, and back then I really loved them purely for convenience. I tried them again a couple of years ago and was so disappointed. You buy Micro Chips from the freezer section of the supermarket and you an get 2 or 4 boxes at a time, and I think they are pretty ... Read the complete review

I can always remember micro chips being my favourite thing as a kid. I never wanted to come inside from playing out so all the kids in the street used to get something with microchips for quickness. I'm quite fortunate with my daughters eating habits considering she doesn't really like chips but I bought these for myself a few weeks ago ... Read the complete review

McCain are easily my favourite frozen chips manufacture, they are tasty but they do take a good 20 minutes to cook in the oven so the idea of microwavable chips that only take 3 is a very appealing idea. Because of that I bought myself a pack for around £1.40 and ripped them open. Btw each pack contains 4 boxes that each contains about ... Read the complete review

Over the last few years I have eventually come to realise how much of a rip off and a soggy messy MicroChips seem to be. These are made by McCains, and are found in the frozen section. They cost around £1.30 for the 4 boxes, which are 100g each. You just put these in the Microwave for 3 minutes and this makes a little drop of ... Read the complete review

McCain Micro chips are great I find for a real quick bite to eat as I blast these in the microwave and slap them in between two slices of buttered bread, hey presto a chip sandwich without the wait of oven chips. These can only really be used to snack on as so few come in a box and do cost a little more than you would hope The ... Read the complete review

The other day, my daughter and I decided we wanted fish and chips for dinner . But we didn't want to walk down to the chippy in the dark, as we live on a fairly rough estate.
