Advantages: Fluffy tasty grain :)
Disadvantages: None...
I love rice so I love cous cous too as I think thy are very similar in texture but not flavour as cous cous is not as tasty as rive unless you add flavour to it...
Morrisons do their own cous cous and it's a really cheap option to carbohydrates like pasta and potatoes which definitely costs a bit more than this and you get so much in a pack of this product as well!
Made from semolina which is durum wheat, this is a 500g bag made up of small particles of grain which swell when cooked in water, etc.
The bag is just a see-through plastic packet, plain and has the nutritional info on the front and back so you can see at a glance what you get.
Advertised as low in fat and sugar this product actually contains 12g of protein per 100 g of dried grains. The fat content is hardly there at 0.2g and the calories are 362 which sounds really high for 100g again, but this stuff really swells up so you get loads for that!
It is really easy to cook as well; even students like me can do it, lol!
The instructions are on the back of course but you just soak 250g in 400ml of water and then add salt and oil if you want and simmer for 5 minutes and then leave it to soak for a bit longer...
The cous cous really fluffs up its amazing, like a fluffy mass!
We use vegetable stock cubes to flavour the water and it's really nice as there isn't much taste to the cous cous otherwise.
This is very filling and 100% natural with no colours flavours or preservative in it and really healthy too; I really like it as a change and it's suitable for vegetarians but not for gluten allergists :(
It keeps for over a year on our best before date package as it's a dried food.
Five stars for a great food from me, yay!
Summary: So tasty with added extras in it ;-p
