Advantages: Really simple to make and ready within 15 minutes

Disadvantages: Maybe a bit pricier than I'd like to pay

I was served these Nachos by a friend and they were so tasty I now give them to anyone that comes to my house. The packaging is in the usual garish Old El Paso yellow, and inside the box you get a large pack of Nachos and a pack of salsa which has been divided into two pouches (so you could save one if you didn't want to use it all there and then). Extra ingredients you will need are 150g of grated cheese and then anything else you care to add such as sour cream (which the kit recommends you use), jalapenos, chillis etc.

Preparing and cooking these Nachos is dead simple. You need a large-ish oven dish (I use a lasagne dish for this which does the job really well) and you layer half of the Nachos in the bottom, cover with half of the salsa and half of the cheese, then layer the rest of the nachos on top of that and cover them with the remaining salsa and cheese. You then whack the whole thing in a pre-heated oven for 10 minutes et voila!

The Nachos are of a really crunchy consistency, although they will go soggy wherever you've put salsa, but the crunchy/soggy combo just adds to the experience. The Nachos are also quite salty but once you've smothered them in topping then it'll just blend in with all the other flavours.

Serving-wise I usually find that one kit does really well for 3 or 4 people as just a snack. Or you could split it between just two people and it would be like having a full meal. You should expect to pay about £2.30 for the kit, depending on where you buy it, and they're available in most supermarkets.

Summary: These Nachos are as good as any that I've been served in a pub.
