Advantages: None
Disadvantages: Not authentic, tastes revolting
While clearing out our freezer ready for our Christmas supplies my wife and I decided to use up some ready meals we had bought several months ago from ASDA while they were on sale for £1.
We bought a Chicken Rice Chinese style (that I had) and Lamb Biryani style meal that Sue eat. The meals were both disgusting although the Biryani certainly did have some spice and a fair degree of heat with crunchy black bits that I can only suggest were cardamon seeds.
The Lamb Biryani is 360g and 502 calories which can be cooked in the oven or microwave. These dishes were so disgusting that neither of us eat the meals and luckily we had bought a rather nice cream cake earlier from Sainsburys that very quickly eleviated the situation.
The ingredients are:
Rice, potatoes, peas, salt, cumin seeds, cardamon seeds, ground turmeric (Indian style rice)
Water, lamb, onion, tomato puree, vegetable oil, garlic, coriander leaf, salt, ginger, modified maize starch, ground coriander, garam masala, ground cumin, green chilli, ground turmeric, ground chilli (Biryani style sauce)
Potatoes
Would I buy this again? Absolutely not.
