      Very helpful

you may be lucky or you may end up phoning for a takeaway

My wife bought these recently as they were on offer at our local Tesco Metro. After proudly declaring that i was to be treated to steak pie for dinner i should have realised that something would be wrong, and it was.

The packaging is easily distinguishable as being from Tesco's 'Finest' Range, with a picture of the cooked product enticingly displayed on the front of the box. There are 2 per pack.

The cooking instructions were simple enough, and after removing them from the oven they looked attractive enough and not too dissimilar on the outside from the box image.

      Onto the taste test..
I'm always wary of meat pies of any kind so i waited for my wife to tuck into hers first. I watched her like a nosey schoolchild as i peered at her pie as she tried it.. looked ok from where i was from. She said it was 'ok'.. never a great sign when she says that... so it was my turn.

All looked well until i removed my first piece of 'meat' from the gravy. Well regretfully there isn't an option on DooYoo to show the photo that i took of what came out. A lump of fat about the size of a grape, with a nice junction of 'tubes' pointing in different directions coming from it.. covered in gravy of course.

After keeping quite about this, i tried a little of the gravy from the rest of the pie and then put it in the bin.

I've emailed Tesco about this, and they've not even had the decency to contact me.

Avoid these at all costs.. we've eaten value brand pies before and not encountered such poor quality.
