“ Brand: Tesco / Type: Beef „
Cost: £4.10- not cheap for a micro-meal.
Nutrition: This dish is a little high in salt as with so many instant meals (3.1g), but the calorie content is good (380) for 400G meal.
Cooking instrutions: The instructions include "remove the insert with a fork" which, unless you already know there is an insert UNDER the top layer of food is a little confusing. Took me ages to find the insert they were talking about.
Meat quality: As with most Tesco Finest stuff the quality is excellent, I'm very fussy about beef but it was excellent in texture and not fatty at all.
Ingredients: The most noticeable ingredients to taste are: beef, noodles, peppers, mushroos and beans (edamame). They are all cooked nicely and give a nice compliment of flavours and textures.
Flavour: The flavour of the teriyki sauce was a bit bland. There was plenty of sauce (once I found it under the insert) but it wasn't very strongly flavoured. Primarily ginger and garlic, but neither strong enough to dazzle.
Texture: The texture was very good, the noodles nice and soft but the beans firm. The beef in particular was melt in the mouth.
Quantity: The portion (400g) looks like it should be enough for a main evening meal but left me a little hungry. A decent size for lunch I would imagine.
