Tesco Value Spaghetti in Tomato Sauce
Advantages: GOOD PRICE
I have recently tried out the Tesco Value tin of spaghetti and this is my review.
I have been trying out some of the items in the Tesco Value range to see if I can save a few pence on my weekly shop and I have found that some of them are very good value and I will buy them from now on but other items in the range are not that good and I will not get them again.
The packaging for this item is very plain and is just a metal tin with a plain looking label on it with the name of the Tesco Value spaghetti on it. The metal tin can be recycled and I like this cos I like to do my bit for the environment. I do not really like the look of the Tesco Value tin of spaghetti and think it is very plain looking and does not catch my eye but this does not bother me to much cos I am more concerned with the item and not what packet it comes in as this goes in the bin anyway.
The Tesco Value spaghetti was a brilliant price and it only cost me 14 pence for the tin which is 410g. I normally pay 56 pence for a tin of Heinz spaghetti in tomato sauce which is only 400g in size so as you can see I am getting more spaghetti for less money by choosing the Tesco Value tin of spaghetti in tomato sauce.
I usually have tinned spaghetti with hot toast and butter and for lunch I would eat half the tin or for an evening meal I would eat the whole tin. I tried out the Tesco Value tinned spaghetti for lunch so only used half the can. When I took the lid of the can I thought that the spaghetti looked nice although I did think the tomato sauce was not as thick looking or as dark coloured as the tinned spaghetti I usually buy.
I emptied the half can into a saucepan and heated it up which did not take long only a few minutes. The smell was not as rich as the tinned spaghetti I usually buy but I thought it was still a nice smell and when I put the Tesco spaghetti onto my toast I thought that it looked like a nice meal.
When it came to eating the Tesco Value spaghetti I thought that it tasted quite nice although I did not think the tomato sauce the spaghetti was in was as nice and tasty as the brand I usually buy. It was not taste less or watery but I did not think the flavour was as nice and it was not as rich flavoured. I did not think the Tesco Value tinned spaghetti was to sweet either which for me is a good thing as I think a lot of tomato type sauces can have to much sweetners in them and I am not to keen on this. I thought the taste of the Tesco Value tinned spaghetti was very nice and I thought the pasta was nice and soft and easy to eat.
I would suggest giving the Tesco Value tinned spaghetti a try out and I will buy this kind from now on. I think it is a brilliant price for such a large tin and the tin has so much spaghetti in it that it does my lunch for two days running. I thought the taste of the Tesco Value tinned spaghetti was quite nice although it did not taste as rich as other brands I usually buy. I think it is a great product and if you are needing to save a few pennies like me then I think you should give it a try.
Summary: A GOOD VALUE TIN OF SPAGHETTI
