When it comes to ready meals I have admit I am an avid fan of them. Living on my own (if boyfriend isn't about of course!) I find ready meals a quick and simple option for me. Having lost about 6 stone through the Weightwatchers plan a few years ago now, I trust the brand and ate them often due to the points being on the front of the box so it was simple to know I was eating healthily. So some days I revert back to Weightwatcher meals to try to keep my weight steady and lets face it this brand (Heinz Weightwatchers) have plenty of ready meals and the likes within their range so I never get bored as there is simply so many to choose from! One I have eaten a few times is this Beef Lasagne in the past and this I found myself eating a couple of nights back. Its a meal I buy often though not always from Weightwatchers though as I have just said I know this healthier so I usually put it with a green salad usually and to be very good indeed! The Packaging: The box this comes in is mainly a purple in colour and there is a photograph of the meal on there as well as being told what it is and who it is by, we are told that the meal is 7 points (helpful really if you are on the Weightwatchers plan in the main) and that it contains just 257 calories and 7.7g of fat then on the back of the box other information tells us a bit about the product, ingredients and allergy advice is given along with a full nutritional chart, we are told that the meal weighs 300g, heating instructions are given and contact details for the manufacturer are clearly stated. The Meal/My Opinion: The meal comes in a reusable black plastic tray which is rather deep and it has a see-through plastic cover to it and to cook it all you do is pop it in the oven for about forty five minutes or in the microwave for about six and a half minutes, either way this should be cooked from frozen for best results according to the claims on the packaging. I have had this a few times as I have stated earlier. Although I think it takes ages in the oven (in my opinion) it does crisp up and firm up alot better in there than through microwave cooking, the microwave doesn't brown it of course and it is a lot wetter and as not as firm or as simple to get out of the tray. Taste wise, either way...well I think its ok, it doesn't rock my world or make me think of homemade in any shape or form! What you get is a large portion of layered white pasta which is rather soggy and bland, I think I have seen three layers of this but it all kind of sticks together so its hard to tell. You then get really thin dark brown but none greasy or gristly beef mince (not a lot of it I have to add) that is a bit flavourless in a diced tomato sauce which appears to have no seeds in it and not be seasoned either and this mix is meant to be seasoned with chillies, garlic, thyme and basil but all that I can detect from that really is dried basil and thyme and there really isn't much of it though you can see little speckles of it within the sauce. The very top layer (that browns in the oven but not in the microwave) is meant to be cheese and cream, to me its a little flavourless and again doesn't taste one bit seasoned and on the cheese front it certainly isn't a nice strong, rich cheese.= and its quite thick and gloopy and tastes more watery/creamy than anything else really. Like I said there is plenty of it and if your going to purchase it I would say cook it in the oven but for me the whole thing is a little bland, there really isn't enough garlic, thyme and basil within it and as for the cheese flavour pftttt...its only just delectable if your really search with your tastebuds for that flavour. I don't hate this, if I cook it in the oven its bearable, microwave..... No way you remove it from its tray cooked that way and its just a messy pile of gloop! Overall all though I just wish its flavours mingled better and were more apparent and that the mince wasn't so dry (even though in a bit of a bolognaise mix!). I buy mine from a local freezer centre at a pound a meal however if not on offer in all good supermarkets its costs about £1.75 and is readily available! I am a huge lasagne fan- and because I do not want to BE or GET huge, I opted to buy the Weight Watcher's Beef Lasagne that I saw on offer in the frozen food section of my local Co-op store for £1 last week. The pack is brightly coloured as in the photograph and is well branded so you know it is part of the Weight Watcher's food range. The RRP is £2.25 (in the Co-op) which I consider to be pricey for a frozen meal for one, but normally if you look out for offers in the supermarkets I never find it too hard to find a lasagne for around £1. The cooking instructions are standard for any frozen lasagne: poke holes in the film covering, 6 minutes in the microwave, remove the plastic film, then another 203 minutes depending upon the wattage of your microwave (or 25-35 minutes in the oven). I always microwave my lasagnes as they take too long to cook in the oven- and I am impatient when i'm hungry!. My routine for a frozen lasagne is- when you remove the film, sprinkle mixed herbs and a little pepper on the lasagne and add some grated cheese, then microwave for an extra 2-4 minutes until it is literally bubbling when you open the microwave door. But this is just how I like my lasagnes! And I am aware cheese is not a diet food- you if you follow this recommendation, you may like to leave off the extra cheese or at least use low fat cheese! I didn't have very high hopes for this as I thought low fat and only 257 calories (7.7g fat) meant it would taste bland- but I was very surprised. The lasagne itself looks and tastes exactly like any normal (non-weight watcher's) lasagne- it is just smaller. So, essentially you are still getting the taste and creamy sauce, but in a smaller box than you would get if you bought a different lasagne, that would have more fat and calories as it was a larger portion! This is very clever portion control by Weight Watchers and I found the lasagne on its own (albeit with the added cheese and herbs) was a decent light main meal for one. It did fill me up and the quality/ taste of the meat used and the tomato sauce, the pasta and creamy sauce they use is on par with good other frozen lasagnes. Overall- I would recommend this product for the taste, the portion control size and if you can find it on offer, then even better. I am considering just filling my freezer with these for when I next have a lasagne craving but don't want the guilt of seeing i've just eaten 700 or 800 calories afterwards!
I'm not on a weight watchers diet, but I do buy the ready meals now and again. They are normally on special offer in the supermarket. I can say I enjoyed the lasagne and would not have known that it was low calorie or a diet product. The pasta was soft not mushy, the sauce was rich and tasty and the mince was meaty and flavourfull. I buy these range of ready meals for conveniance and they don't taste low fat so overall i'm very happy to keep throwing the odd one in the microwave when i'm cooking for myself. I have friends who are on the weight watchers diet and eat products from the weight watchers range and they're very happy with the rate they are loosing weight and results they are seeing. I'm happy with my weight and am not tempted to follow the plan but if i did decide to diet I would be happy to eat more of these ready meals.
As I am trying to lose some weight for not only the Summer and holidays but also in preparation for the big 3-0 I have joined Weight watchers online and as I can struggle with knowing what to have for lunch while at work so have been using the frozen meals to help me stay on track. My favourite meal in general is Lasagne so this was one of the first meals I had bought. The Heinz Weight Watchers Beef Lasagne costs around £1.75 from most major supermarkets and for this you get 300 g. It is presented in a purple and white cardboard box which is pretty standard for the Heinz Weight Watchers meals and is normally found in the freezer sections. Inside the Lasagne is supplied in a flimsy plastic case which is microwavable. On first appearances the lasagne looks plain and unappetising. It only fills the container two thirds of the way up and is colourless. But I thought, lets give it a go and I popped it in the oven. Cooking Instructions:- To oven bake you simply preheat the oven to Gas Mark 6, remove film lid and place on a baking tray and cook for 40-45 minutes. The ready meal can also be microwave from frozen:-Remove film lid, and cook on Full Power for 6 minutes followed by 5 ½ minutes on defrost. Using either of these methods will cook the meal thoroughly and it comes out piping hot so it's best to leave to standing for about a minute before eating. When the meal is cooked in the over the lasagne does a golden brown and crispy on the top which makes the whole meal tastes better. If cooked in the microwave the lasagne stays colourless and sloppy which is awful! Nutrional Information The meal boasts just 7.7g fat per meal and only 257 calories making it ideal for those on the WW diet. Per 100g the meal has:- 6.1g Protein 9.3g Carbohydrate 1.2g of which sugars 2.6g Fat 1.2 g of which saturates 0.4g Fibre 0.2gSodium 0.6g Salt Equivalent The meal is very small and I found I had to cook some vegetables to go with it to bulk it up a bit, but this meant it was more awkward to take to work. The meal seems to be mainly pasta along with a tiny bit of béchamel sauce on the top and minimal amount of beef. In fact I would say the amount of beef would fit on a table spoon. The meal taste satisfactory but doesn't really impress you at all. The taste is quite bland and even worse when cooked in the microwave. There is nowhere near enough to fill you up which are disappointing. Overall a poor effort from Heinz and Weight Watchers
I have lost 5 stone over the past 8 months (I still have about another 4 to go!) and one of the ranges of prepared foods I have found useful during this time is the Weight Watchers range. I am not actually following a Weight Watchers plan - instead I am currently doing the low calorie and low fat traditional diet, but as the Weight Watchers plan follows the same principles, I have found their range of foods to be useful to have in the freezer for when I can't be bothered to cook. The Weight Watchers Lasagne is one of the dishes I have tried. It cost me £1.39 from my local Co-Op store which, for a meal, is very reasonable. I generally have some salad with it as well as it makes the meal look more appetising and also more filling - but on occasion I have eaten the lasagne by itself and its perfectly adequate for a small diet meal. One serving of the lasagne (which is the whole dish) is 253 calories and it contains just 7g of fat - and so its ideal for someone counting the calories as its low in calories and fat. Yippee!! The lasagne comes in a plastic dish which is covered in a film for hygiene purposes. Before microwaving, this film needs to be pierced in several places. I tend to cook it in the microwave for 7 minutes and then brown it off in the over for about 10 minutes so that the top is crispy. If you do it all in the microwave it tastes almost exactly the same, but the top is soft and it really doesn't look as appetising. Once cooked, it does look and smell like lasagne, although I have to say that the depth is thinner than I would normally expect from a lasagne. Its a fairly small portion and I don't think this would fill you if you were absolutely ravenous, but for a small meal then its okay. If I have this at lunchtime then it would be enough for me, but as an evening meal it needs to be bulked out a bit with salad or vegetables or I'd end up starving! The taste is surprisingly nice. The meat tastes lean and like good quality mince - although there isn't that much of it! The bechamel sauce is rich and creamy and there is enough of it to keep the different layers of the lasagne together. The pasta sheets are soft and taste fresh. The whole dish is rich and juicy and actually tastes very good indeed. Overall, I would say this is a good dish for a small meal. I do think that it really does need complimenting with some vegetables or salad for it to be adequate for most appetites.
Having started on the WW propoints diet I am working my way through half of their products, and WW Lasagne is by far one of my favourites! I brought this from Iceland for £1 but it is available in most major supermarkets and I have also seen it in some local shops, although for a bit more money (Iceland has a fantastic range of WW products). Having tried a lot of 'ready meals' I wasnt really expecting much from this lasagne, as afterall you cant beat homemade! But I was pleasantly surprised. I have heard this lasagne described as too runny by a few people, but in my own opinion it is just right, yes it could be a little less runny but for a microwave low fat meal it does the job. It is nice to be able to have a lasagne whilst on a diet that doesnt take up my weekly allowance of points! Size wise this is an ideal portion, however I would say it wouldnt be enough on its own as a main meal, maybe for a lunch, but if you are having it for dinner I would say you need to accompany it with something in order to fill up. Personally I have some WW chips and cauliflower and it makes a delicious, filling meal. The contents is exactly right for a lasagne, perfect amount of mince, onions etc, the lasagne sheets cook nicely in the microwave without being hard or undercooked (as I have found with other microwavable lasagnes) and the white sauce is tasty AND low in fat! In just 8 minutes you can have a tasty lasagne without the guilt (and only 6 propoints for those WW followers!). Overall I would highly recommend this lasagne, especially to people on a diet - if you're not bothered about the fat content or your waistband you may choose to disagree!
Weight Watchers Classic Beef Lasagne You know how it is, you've had a hard day at the office, a two hour trek on a hot tube train home, packed in like a sardine with your nose up someone else's sweaty armpit and when you get home, what you would really like is a lovely home cooked meal. Sadly yesterday, that isn't what I got. After arriving home tired and hungry to find out my other half had cooked her own dinner I was resigned to the fact that I then had to spend time slaving away again over a hot cooker. Looking through the cupboards and the freezer, to my dismay there was nothing of any interest. A few frozen vegetables, yes, a tin of beans, yes, one egg, yes. Not much else. Dammit. I was ravenous as well. "Darling, what am I supposed to eat for dinner?" (She does the food shopping) Reply, "There's a lasagne in the fridge if you want it." Great. Lasagne. My Favourite. Wrong. On opening the fridge, I discovered it was a weightwatchers lasagne. Typical woman, thinking of her figure before thinking about my vast calorie intake requirements. Still, never min I thought, it might just be alright, after all, lasagne is my most favourite meal. My first problem came when trying to pierce the film on top of it so I could put it in the microwave (I was too hungry to wait for it to cook in the oven). I normally use a fork to pierce this kind of thing with no hassle, this one however wouldn't pierce properly, it just ripped great chunks out of the film. Anyway, I popped it in the microwave for six minutes and put a few frozen veg on the hob to cook. Six minutes later, the familiar, heart warming smell of freshly cooked lasagne was starting to stroke my nostrils lovingly. Yummy. So I dished up my lasagne and that is where things took a massive turn for the worse. And no, I didn't drop it on the floor (although I wish I had done now!) The "lasagne" only vaguely represented lasagne. It smelt fine, but looked dire. To start with there was hardly any meat at all, if I had scraped all the meat out, it would have probably only filled one and a half tablespoons. The pasta looked unappetising, and the béchamel sauce looked more like congealed male ejaculate. The whole thing was very runny, not very well structured, and quite frankly looked like vomit on a plate. But it smelt delicious. So I sat down to eat. The eating experience was pretty much the same as I have described above. It tasted of lasagne..... almost. But there was no tasteable amount of garlic, the taste in general was bland, the béchamel tasted like what it looked like, and the meat was almost non-existent and tasteless. My girlfriend likes it. I most certainly do not. Give me a Tesco lasagne any day! At least it would fill me up and give my taste buds the pleasure they deserve. I couldn't give a toss that it is a WeightWatchers product. I am not on a diet. Don't need to be, and never will be. But for anybody who is interested in bland, tasteless food, apparently the lasagne is 9 ProPoints per pack - whatever that means! I just love the way they describe it on the front of the box! "Tasty layers of egg pasta and a rich beef and red wine ragu, topped with a smooth cheese béchamel"..... Now that's false advertising for you. How about: "Dried up layers of egg pasta and a cardboardy beef and vinegar ragu, topped with a smooth uncheesey ejaculation" That about sums it up. The pack contains 354 calories, which is about half of what one of my usual lasagnes would be, 8.8g of fat - which seems quite high considering the main ingredient is water! Ingredients: Water, Beef (15%), Cooked Pasta (14%), Skimmed Milk, Tomato, Tomato Concentrate, Onion, Mushroom, Red Wine (3%), Tomato Puree, Low Fat Hard Cheese (1.5%), Celery, Carrot, Cornflour, Beef Stock, Single Cream, Garlic Puree, Low Fat Soft Cheese, Wheat Flour, Balsamic Vinegar, Basil, Salt, Oregano, Black Pepper, White Pepper. This is the first WeightWatchers product I have tried, and almost certainly the last. Quite frankly they have ruined my favourite dish by trying to reduce calories, and ultimately have ruined the taste. Oh, and did I mention the portion size is too small? I was hungry again an hour later.
Most of the products I buy tend to be low fat or low calorie. I try to watch my weight and stick to my weightwatchers plan - most of the time. So when I'm round the supermarket I look for the healthier options. Lasagne is something that is often made in a lower fat option, but you do have to be quite careful because they can tend to be spicey. Some people like this and its fine but it leaves me with heartburn so I try to find the less spciey versions if i can. I first tried this weightwatchers lasgane a couplf of years ago when it was on a special offer for £1 each. I thought this was still a little pricey to be honest but gave it a go. This is a very herby lasagne and tastes of herbs, but it isnt spicey, which I liked. It ha a very nice flavour and if you have it with some veg its quite filling. There isn't a huge amount of meat, but that's fine by me because it still has a very meaty flavour and is great when your in a rsh for dinner.
Personally, I don't follow the Weight Watchers diet plan, but enjoy Weight Watchers ready meals anyway. The lasagne is usually in the region of £1.50 if you buy them individually, but you can often get them on offer for something like 5 for £5, so they work out at around £1 each, which I think is decent value. The lasagne isn't one of my favourites from the Weight Watchers range. I am a massive fan of lasagne itself, but find that my own homecooked one is usually far better than you would get in a ready meal! However, I tried the lasagne for convenience, and as with other lasagne ready meals, it was a little watery and bland. The portion size is also pretty small - for lunch, it would be OK, but if you are having this for tea, I'd definitely recommend serving it with a decent portion of side salad both to bulk the dish up and to liven it up a bit. And if you are like me and don't actually follow the diet plan but sometimes eat the meals for convenience, a piece of garlic bread would go down nicely with it! For a convenient and reasonably cheap (if you get it for £1) freezer filler, this lasagne is OK, but I much prefer the Weight Watchers Chicken Curry for a tasty and convenient snack. I intend to freeze some portions of my own lasagne for future as I struggle to find a decent ready meal of it, although mine will probably not be as low in calories (the WW lasagne is under 300 calories and 4.5 points).
I need something quick and easy to take to work when I work lates as I find a sandwich just doesn't cut it as a dinner for me. We only have a microwave or kettle so options are a bit limited, so when I found this Weight watchers lasagne in Iceland for just £1.00, I thought I would give it a try. First impressions - It comes in the usual purple box, it is made by Heinz for Weight watchers and this is clearly stated on the front of the box. It also shows a picture of what the lasagne should look like when it is ready, I thought this was a good idea and it looked quite appealing to me. Also on the box there are clear boxes showing the fat, calorie and points value for the lasagne. Heating it up - You can cook this lasagne in a conventional oven or microwave it says use a conventional oven for best results, although like me, I think most people who buy this will only be buying it for a quick meal so will use the mircowave. Instructions are very simple, to heat in oven you remove film lid and bake for 45 mins at 200 or gas mark 6. For microwave cooking you remove the film lid and cook on full power for 6 mins, then cook on defrost for 5 and a half minutes. (based on a 850 w microwave)Let it stand for one minute and it is ready to eat. For me 12 and a half minutes cook time is too long as I only get 20 mins break but if you have longer or at eating at home it would be ok. The finished article - Well first of all my lasagne looked nothing like the picture on the box, there wasn't a crispy top it just looked like watery slop. It was piping hot and needed a lot longer than the one minute to stand before I could even think about putting it in my mouth. So the twelve minutes cook time and three minutes to cool left me with five minutes to eat it. It did surprisingly taste a lot better than it looked, it had a nice cheesy taste and the pasta was soft. There was a nice portion of meat in it and it left my hungry tummy satisfied. Down points were that it was quite runny and it kept dipping off the fork and onto my uniform, I also found the tomato taste a bit too strong. Other information - There are only 245 calories per lasagne or 4.5 points for those following the Weight watchers point system. You can get this in most supermarkets and it mostly retails for about £1.50 a pack. Overall verdict - It was ok, but took too long to cook and was far too runny. I have had better so wouldn't buy it again.
Firstly, I will start this off with a few simple words about this dinner: yum, yum, yum, yum! Many people think that weight watchers meals will be horrible - just because they are weight watchers meals. I have been on weight watchers for about 2 months, and this is one of my favourite dinners which I basically live on. For only 4.5 points, this is such a tasty meal for you to have. You can either pop it in the microwave, or put it in the oven. Personally, I like putting it in the oven as I think it tastes better. I takes around 45 minutes to cook in the oven, but only around 8-10 minutes to cook in the microwave. When you see the lasange on your plate, it dosen't look alot, but half way through eating it, you do start to feel like it is filling you up, and by the time you are finished, you really do feel full up. Another good point, is that is keeps you full up for a few hours. The only bad point for this product is its price. For a ready meal, it can be quite pricy - but just for the hassle of having your points worked out for you, I personally feel that it is a great buy. The beef in the lasange takes like really good quality beef, and the lasange sheets are so tasty with a slight hint of a cheese taste. Overall, as I have stated previously - I love this dinner so much that I am practically living on it, and I would recommend anyone to try it.
I have the Weight Watchers Lasagne for dinner at least once a week as part of my diet. It is part of the frozen Weight Watchers ready meal range and is usually on offer at a lot of the supermarkets, sometimes even for £1! The Lasagne has only 253 calories making it a great option if you are trying to loose weight. Also if you are following the weight watchers diet it gives you the point detail. It is also very convenient as it is microwavable in a matter of minutes. You can also oven cook it if you prefer. A lot of people say that the ready meals are small portions and wouldn't be filling enough for an evening dinner meal but I find them just right. I have never been left hungry after and I can eat a fair bit. You could add a portion of vegetables to go with the Lasagne. The Lasagne itself needs a good while to cool down or you will burn your mouth. So when it says to leave to stand, be patient. I found out the hard way! It is very tasty and doesn't taste like it is low fat or that you are denying yourself anything you enjoy.
The Weight Watchers Beef Lasagne is a product from the frozen ready meal section of your supermarket. I was tempted to try it this week as it was on offer this week (£1.00 compared to the usual £1.45) in my local Tesco, and I am desperate to shed a few pounds so that I do not look too much like a christmas pudding when I tuck in to my christmas pudding. At just 253 calories and only 4.5 weight watcher points, this is a really good way to have a hot lunch without piling on the pounds. The reason I say lunch, is because with only 300g of lasagne in the box, I am not sure it would fill me up at dinner time. This is fewer calories than most sandwiches (or the ones I like anyway), and even at full price, is probably cheaper than most sandwiches you would buy too. The taste is average. It is not really full of flavour, but then it does taste like lasagne, just a bit watered down and not as "tomatoey" as I would normally like. My advice would be to serve it with a nice low calorie salad for a bit of extra va-va-voom. It takes eleven minutes to cook in the microwave at defrost and full temperature, so it would be great for your work lunch break if you have a microwave you can access. Just beware...it is VERY hot when it first comes out the microwave, so don't wait until you're starving and can't wait a minute for it to cool. Even if you are not on a diet, this would be a fairly hearty lunch, and with less than 3% fat, it would also be guilt free.

Packaging The meal comes boxed as is easily recognisable as a Weight Watchers meal with the signature purple band on the left of the box, on the right a picture of the lasagne. The meal itself is in a microwave able plastic tray with a film lid. The box clearly shows the nutritional information of the meal both in grams and in weight watchers points for those on the programme. Cooking The meal can be microwaved in 9mins or oven cooked in 40mins. For either method the film lid is removed and the meal placed straight in the oven or microwave, nothing else needed. I have tried both ways of cooking and the oven cooking while producing marginally better results was not superior enough to warrant the 31mins extra cooking time (not for me anyway). The meal The Lasagne looks like a lasagne, which may sound a strange thing to mention but I have had many ready meals which do not resemble their respective namesakes at all. It can be eaten straight from the pack or for the very civilised among us can be placed onto a plate. The lasagne keeps its form quite well when removed from the tray. The cheese covering looks appetising enough, it is a very thin layer, but then this is a low fat meal. The white sauce is very creamy and does not taste low fat at all. The mince tastes like it is of good quality and there is a strong flavour of tomatoes from the mince layers. There are lots of onions and mushroom which add flavour to the meal however the mushrooms are a little spongy although when eaten with the meal as a whole this is not noticeable. Nutrition I will not list all the figures but as a low fat meal the fat and calorie content are important. The meal has 7.3g of fat of which 3.5g are saturated and 253 calories. It is 4.5 weight watchers points. The meal also has 1.5g of salt, high but all ready meals are and it is only 25% of the daily allowance so is not too bad. Verdict As a ready meal I thought this was excellent, I enjoyed it and the taste was far superior to many other ready meals I have tried. As a low fat ready meal I don't think you will find better, I haven't. Lowering the fat and calories has compromised neither the taste nor the texture. The meal is 300g and that kept me full till my nest meal. I will certainly buy this again and am looking forward to it next time, how many low fat meals can you saw that about.
I bought this product as part of the 3 for £4 offer in Asda, it is a frozen ready meal and they do tend to have a wide variety included in the offer which makes them a good freezer staple, one you can grab in a hurry when you only need to feed youself! Finding myself in a situation where I am only going to need to cook for me a couple of nights over the last few weeks these were ideal, especially as I am following the weight watchers plan. This beef lasagne certainly looks tasty on the box and it is only valued at 4.5 points for the meal which is quite low for a main. This meant I was able to enjoy a small glass of red wine with my meal for another 2 points and felt like I had had a bit of a treat. In terms of regular nutritional info, the product contains 253 calories and 3.5g of saturated fat. As I had been shocked at the amount of salt in a chicken hotpot from the same range earlier in the week I actively looked for the salt content here and was pleased to see it was lower in this dish at 0.6g of sodium which is 1.6g of salt. Still not exactly low but a more appropriate level for a 300g portion of lasagne at least. So, I cooked this in the microwave (because I am impatient) and it takes around 6.5 minutes, in the oven it takes a fair bit longer at 40-45 minutes. In retrospect I did wonder if I should have followed the advice on the packet which recommends the lengthy oven method because I did find that the product was a bit dried out and stuck to the box after cooking in the microwave. I have to say that once cooked the product did not look anything like the nice picture on the box and how they managed to get it out of the plastic tray still looking so perfectly formed with clear layers visible. Mine resembled a big pile of goo with sticking out bits of pasta. I also had to scrape the bottom layer of lasagne off the tray where it was resolutely stuck, aesthetically pleasing this was not. Anyway, looks aside, the lasagne did taste very nice and had a good texture to it, the pasta sheets were not too bad although they were a bit sticky. The sauce was very tasty though and quite rich given that this is a diet product, I really enjoyed it and unlike with the chicken hotpot I could not taste salt at all so the sesoning was obviously spot on. The portion size does look small once the lasagne is removed from the tray and on a plate but to be fair, I felt very satisfied when I had finished this meal which would suggest that the portion size is actually just right. A great option if you are on the weight watchers plan or even if you simply want a low fat version of this classic, I would try cooking it in the oven next time to see if it stops the sticking to the tray problem but I still doubt I could make it look like the one on the packet!
