At first they start off sincere and polite and so you think you've got a good deal! As time moves closer to the date of the move, they start showing worrying signs of unprofessionalism and unreliability. For example, they turn up hours late for estimates, fail to delivery boxes on time, get customers names and addresses mixed up etc (really not a good recipe for a removal company!) On the day of the move, not only do they turn up late again, they also bring no sofa covers or carpet protectors as promised. I wish I had seen this before I used ASL earlier this year, they were appalling. They were FIVE hours late (!) and then demanded twice the fee once they had half of our belongings in the van. We refused so they only took half of our stuff to the new flat; it was less than a 2 miles away. Friends had to help us with the rest. They were totally unprofessional, rude, obnoxious and unhelpful, I literally felt threatened by them and did not want to be alone with them at all. ASL removals in Forest Hill London. I used them to move 3 items from Kent to Scotland, They collected on the Wed to deliver the following day. Guess what, it never arrived, and they did not bother to contact me either. Their excuse' the van had broken down!! Apparently they use this excuse regualry. Well it did not arrive the next day, they gave me 4 different times 2 deliver, after I called them asking where my furniture was. Friday I was told it would be with me by mid morning...nothing, then I was told 5.30, again nothing, then at 10.30pm, still no furniture. All the time they made no contact. we used these monkeys on our big move from London. Van pulled over on M4 for being overweight by a ton. No tax or insurance, van put in police hold. We had 4 month old baby, no clothes, no nothing. No calls, monkeys on train back to London before we knew, and only because we called them. Refused to pay anything else, they had £100 up front. Women on phone at party couldn't care less. Next day another company called and demanded £400 per van load instead of 1 van and £450 left to pay. Refused to pay, started saying that they would take the van.
