Advantages: early wake up call with vibrations, none , nice street lights and cobbles

Disadvantages: vibrations, smells, even poorer aftersales

Faults and complaints with this Charles Church House ( PERSIMMON HOMES ) near Fleet Elvetham Heath
-Vibrates with every train as they did not build it with a wave impedence barrier. I mean major vibrations that make candlesticks move, plants shake and bed that feels as though you are having a party.Who needs viagra when the vibrating house can improve your sex life. Very distressing and no sleep due to trains ( not sex life) . TV picture flickers every time a train passes by. Gutter fell off .

Charles Church's vibration consultants have recorded 385 vibrations in 5 day .
--window ledges are not level ,they slope inwards thus when the orniments vibrate due to the trains they eventually fall of the ledge . Good workmanship .

I would never buy another house in the Persimmon Group - next time (next year ) I will revert back to Barretts ( did not have any problems with that new home ) or Millwood Homes -that was on the sea front at it was battered by the English Channel and did not suffer any vibrations .

I would vote Charles Church one of Britain's slowest builders to repsond to faults.
Perhaps the management would like to visit their Charles Church house and witness the problems . Try out their own product.

An update 10th September 2003 . The bad smell in the bath room turns out to be the plastic bath and panel - the actual plastic smells and during the heat wave the smell obviously became worse , I think they need to change supplier . The key and door lock have been replace
d. Thank you Mr Customer Services Manager .

A further update ----13th November - Customer Services have now painted the door and repaired the bathroom door .Again thank you.

I would like to also add that overall the Charles Church development at Elvetham Heath is excellent and warrents awards for its overall design and mix of house types . Take a look for your self . Thats the reason I bought there in the
first place .
PERSIMMON GROUP must be proud of this show case . Please resolve my largest complaint (vibrations) and this web site will disappear as I would like to the proud of my home and also be an ambassador and supporter of Charles Church in the future .


What consumer rights are there when you buy a new home ? None - because British Standards are so vague and HART District Council Planning Office do not care. And who are the NHBC ? The NHBC WARRANTY and organisation does nothing to assist

Good luck to any new house buyers,you will need it . Best advice - sit tight with your hard earned cash , don't buy a new home when interest rates rise a further quarter % in DEC and or JAN .
