Other agents will over-value your property just so you sign-up with them and then phone you week after week to ask you to lower the price to generate an interest. I was surpised to read the negative review about Douglas Allen Spiro in Dalston because I am selling a flat through them at the moment! (year 2006) I chose Douglas Allen Spiro (Dalston) because they passed my first test. I phoned for some simple innocent query such as "What are the property prices for a x bed in the area?". Altough, the person did not know, but I was told someone would call me back. And yes they did call me back! This was a good sign, because some of the other agents failed this first step! I have been using the Dalston branch of Douglas Allen Spiro to search for a property to buy, with my partner. We're first time buyers and have a mortgage in place from a major high street bank. Our experience with them has been negative in the extreme. We found a property we liked and were enthusiastic about, and told our agent. Due to have a second viewing at 11am, at 9am we recieved a call from our agent - he said that they had "recieved an offer at asking price". We went to view the property again, partly with the intention of evaluating whether we were prepared to buy at more than the asking price. Our agent was not present ...
