Advantages: Honest, friendly and know what they are talking about. They got me a good price and I felt safe

Disadvantages: Me being stupid

I had a flat to sell in Ickburgh Road, Hackney and went to one agent, Homefinders. They were very proactive and honest in viewings and offers, they even gave me a free guide on how to sell my home. Having an offer of £150k I decided to call other agents to check if this was a good price. After my friend had just put her property on the market and had had a much higher valuation than other agents from Keatons. When I spoke with them, Keatons said I could get £160k for the flat and they had a buyer. I cancelled my first sale with Homefinders and went with them even though I felt it was too good to be true, an extra £10,000. After several months of being lied to, the buyer never turned up. I seriously doubt they ever had one. Needing the sale to go through, I went back to Homefinders realising my mistake to see if they still had the same buyer still. They didn't. They were kind and helpful though and despite my idiocy, they put in the same amount of effort they did before in selling my property and even re-valued it as the market had gone up. In the end, they got me a good price for the property, helped me through a difficult sale (the freeholder was missing) and got me the money I wanted in the first place. Just because an agent says they can get you higher price than anyone else, does not mean they can. It was a costly mistake I made in legal fees and time. The other part is I got so incensed that Keatons could lie to me just to get my flat to sell and cost me money. Tried to complain but no one took my call and they are not affiliated with any recompense scheme, Keatons are Shysters!

Summary: They helped me through a diffculty sale and did not lie to me like Keatons did
