Advantages: The site is easy to use and has lots of property results.
Disadvantages: There aren't any.
Findaproperty is a great site to go on if you're looking to buy or rent a property. The site is very easy to use and has lots of information about properties all over the country, and they also have a section on overseas properties. Findaproperty shows you properties sold by all different Estate Agents. The site has 5 main tabs which each have a different category to look at:
1. Buy- This is the first tab, on the left hand there is a space where you can type in different things that will help with your search for buying a property which are:
Location: The area you are looking to buy in.
Price min/max: If you have an idea of how much you want to spend then fill in each one with the minimum and maximum amount.
Min beds: Choose the minimum amount of bedrooms you want the property to have.
Filling in these details will help to find you the kind of property you're after. You don't have to fill in all the sections but doing so will give you a result that is more specific. Once you are ready just click on find a property bit underneath and your results will come up. Each property result will tell you the price it is going for, which estate agent is selling it and most have a picture of the property. You also have the option to save the property so if there are any you like then you can save them and view them again later, without having to search through all the sites results. You can also click on contact the agent if you click on this then it show various options including arrange a viewing etc this email will go directly to the estate agent where the property is advertised. Then lastly you have the option of clicking on more details. This normally shows more pictures of the property, measurements of rooms and a more detailed description of the property.
2. Rent- This is very similar to the buy layout except the search on the left is slightly different. The different search bits you can fill out are:
Location: The area you want to rent in.
Price Range: The maximum and minimum rent you will pay.
You then have a choice of whether you want to look for properties you can pay the rent weekly or monthly.
You can then choose whether the property you want to rent is furnished or unfurnished etc.
Filling the search in will make your results smaller, but it should show ones that will be suitable for you. Then click on find a property underneath and all the properties for rent will come up with details of how much etc.
3. New Homes- This is very similar to the other two sections when you click on it any new homes that are up for sale etc will show up. You can also click on the developers section and it will tell you of any Estate agents that sell the new homes.
4. Overseas- To be honest I don't use this section as I'm not looking at properties abroad. But the site shows the properties for sale abroad. I don't think there are so many as UK properties.
5. Estate Agents- The last tab which show you all the estate Agents that is on the site. The Estate agents are in alphabetical order so you just click on the letter it begins with and all estate agents that start with that letter show up. When you click on the Estate agents you're interested in it will tell you a bit about that particular estate agents. It also shows you a few properties that they have for sale and you can click on there main website and just search through the properties on there,
Me and my husband are looking to move next year so we go on this site regularly to see how much properties are etc. Nearly all the properties that appear in the local paper are on here so we don't need to buy that anymore. Lat year we were looking to sell our property so we used this site to get an idea of how much similar properties go for. I think it is also good how some properties have pictures and measurements of the rooms etc. This gives you an idea of the sizes. Looking at this site saves us looking round estate agents all day; we can just search when we have the time. The site has all the estate agents in the area you are looking at on there, some aren't so well known so you might not think to look in there. Whereas having the properties come up on the screen you won't miss out on the perfect property for you. If there are any we are interested in we can easily call or email the estate agent and find out more information.
Overall I would say this is one of the best property search sites.
You will also find this review on ciao under the same name. Thank you for reading.
Summary: Overall a brilliant site to find a property to buy or rent.
