Disadvantages: completely sales orientated, with absolutely no customer service.

In addition to the previous reviews, I thought it was worth mentioning I recently applied for a position at Foxtons.

Visiting the Foxtons HQ in Chiswick for an interview, myself along with 30 or so other hopefuls were shown a presentation about Foxtons, followed by a brief interview.

What became absolutely clear in the presentation was the absolute sales focus of the company - no mention was made about developing our skills to provide effective service.(Only 1 weeks training is provided!) Quite simply, the company focussed on finding greedy individuals who wished to earn 10%+ of the sale values. At the time of writing, Foxtons offers pay of £10000, plus a 10% commission - which translates into money grabbing, purely sales focused individuals.

To add insult to the injury, we were further told hours were expected from 8am to 8pm six days a week. Being paid such low basic salaries, combined with the cut-throat mentality relaid amongst staff translated into the Foxtons we see today.

As you might have expected, I chose against joining the company in any position whatsoever. Being an estate agent is an unpopular job on its own, but the conduct of Foxtons really does bring shame to the industry. I, like many other collegues in reputable firms - would like to see compulsory regulation over the industry, to help not just customers but also our damaged reputation.

Summary: Avoid Foxtons at all cost
