Foxtons have registered at companies house as a Basic Non-Limited company which means that they don't have to file accounts and reports to companies house. This means that the company is probably trying to hide something?
A friend of mine rented a flat through foxtons, the people moved in and then failed to pay the rent for almost a year. We found out through smaller local estate agents that foxtons never do the necessary credit and background checks and just pocket the commision up front.
My friend went through months of complications trying to evict the tenants and the solicitors he used were also linked to Foxtons "A conflict of interest"!
Steer Clear of Foxtons if you need to use an agent to rent your property. They are NOT members of ARLA 'Association of Residential Letting Agents', this is a professional self-regulating body soley associated with lettings
