Expensive and pushy... (Foxtons)

Advantages: Posh offices, charming staff

Disadvantages: Rip-off, pushy, poor once signed.

Dont ever rent or sell through Foxtons - the offices look slick with free soft drinks and trends sofas, the staff are impeccably trained, charming and persistent, and their properties are well photographed and very very cheap.
Dont be fooled though - they charge a LOT, admin, settling, sign-up, inventory, you name it you pay for it (and over the odds). You wont be aware of thsi until you reach the sign stage and by then you are so charmed by their service you just go for it. However once you have paid and moved in, you will find it very hard to get things in the property fixed and also experience a lot more fees - check-out, admin for checkout etc. I dont talk through personal experience but several friends in London have found this and they have an extremely poor reputation. "Too good to be true" rings in the mind - also be wary of them hustling you around properties hiding damp rooms with "low lighting" etc... take your time and visit some other agencies and ask around first!

Summary: Dont go anywhere near them!
