Hi all, We got in touch with Foxtons to let them know we had bought a new set of table and chairs (worth 700 pounds) and asked if the landlord was able to pick up the previous table and chairs (cheap looking). We've never let anyone enter our property without us being here before (we have had to organise contractors to come ...

I have written this post in hope that it will be informative to the other people; I am certain some people have more-than-satisfactory experience with Foxtons, and this incident alone cannot condemn the entire organisation. But this is what happened to my sister. My sister works for an overseas firm as a "sourcer"; she sources ...

Dont ever rent or sell through Foxtons - the offices look slick with free soft drinks and trends sofas, the staff are impeccably trained, charming and persistent, and their properties are well photographed and very very cheap. Dont be fooled though - they charge a LOT, admin, settling, sign-up, inventory, you name it you pay for it (and over ...

We've just rented a flat in London, and having been looking for a while, I'm glad to find somewhere to write about my experiences with Foxtons, as letting agents. They are truly the masters of spin - the training must be rigorous, and the whole brand is very seductive. It's so easy to walk into a shiny, clean branch, be sat down and ...

I started looking for a property to buy through Foxtons. I chose them as they had a good website. From the moment I met them things went downhill. 1) I made the mistake of meeting with Alexander Hall (their finance guys). They immediately told the agent what I could afford if I borrowed to the hilt. 2) The agent showed me ...

terrible service. they were very quick on the mark to try to convince me to switch estate agent. then once i had done that, not a phonecall to let me know how the sale or let of my property was going. they NEVER returned any of my calls and they were very rude with my current tenants when they turned up unannounced for a viewing. i am very unhappy ...

As an agent in the hampstead area, Foxtons have no idea about anything, I'm not threatened by them, infact they make my life easier as people come to me and complain that they are useless. dont need to be a brain surgeon to work that out!!! One thing I do is listen to what buyers want and show them what they are looking for. Foxtons kidnap you and force you to see things just to show the manager they do viewings. I'm sorry, but showing 101 people round with no sign of offer in mind is not in the owners interest but only for the 'i have no brain or life' agent.
If you really want service and someone that listens, come and have a chat with me, a human. i'm @ salter rex in hampstead. Henal

Do not ever entertain either renting or letting your property through Foxtons. Our tenants were introduced through another agent. They subsequently went to Foxtons, but ended up letting through the first agent as Foxtons tried to charge extorionate fees. Foxtons are now trying to get £11k of commission out of us - even though they did not introduce the property nor was any offer accepted through them! This is all about winning for them, meanwhile the personal touch only comes out if they are trying to get your custom..when things don't go their way they threaten and bully - keep away! They clearly have not clocked that this is the worst possible advert for them but the bottom line in that they probably don't care. So a big warning: landlords and tenants steer clear. Friends that let their house while overseas have had a similar experience.

Dont rent from them-they will call you 10 times a day before you sign the lease but it took over a month for them to get someone out to look at the leaking faucets!
Watch out for phony bidding wars with other "tenants"-I walked away once this started and then they called back to let me know that the other parties had "lost interest". take the extra time to do your homework.
good luck

Foxton's Notting Hill are just extortionists. They lied at the start of my tenancy to both myself & landlord. took 300 quid for a reference/emplyment/credit check that wasnt done (fraudulent i think). A the end they threatened fees that didnt exist until they put the place up to be relet and i made it known if they were going to try to screw ...

Problems using Foxtons to manage our home while we were travelling: 1) Lied about sending us regular statements by e-mail (first said they could, then said they wouldn't) 2) Exorbitant fees for doing next to nothing 3) Lost all our keys and vehemently denied responsibility 4) Staff incompetent at dealing with angry, ...

I passionately hate Foxtons and foresee no future for the lying stealing bas**ds. I will go out of my way to destroy their false facade and make people think twice about ever stepping in to their flash cafe style offices.
Estate agents are generally wa**ers but Foxtons take the cake absolutely.
Tell your friends, tell your granny, spread the word...
Foxtons are history.

Foxtons have registered at companies house as a Basic Non-Limited company which means that they don't have to file accounts and reports to companies house. This means that the company is probably trying to hide something? A friend of mine rented a flat through foxtons, the people moved in and then failed to pay the rent for almost a year. We ...

Wicked looking website, havn't actually tried their service yet but i hear that it isn't too good. I like the amount of content they have, things like local area information, but they don't seem to have a huge property selection. Even in the espensive areas of london which you would expect foxtons to have. When I click to view ...

If you are looking for a headache, work with Foxtons. I made a big mistake to rent my property out using them. It turned out a nightmare for both my tenant and I. They told bunch of lies to us. Tenant moved out after five months since she was so fed up. They never returned the commission that they cut up front since the tenant broke the contract ...

There is always the the odd good egg in a batch of rotten ones. I am not a customer of Foxtons (and never will be by choice) but every where I go there seem to be bad experiences. Just try mentioning their name a few times in public and see what happens. They are not members of any of the usual Estate Agent bodies and have no code of ...

Unlike most Foxtons employees, I managed to last longer than the initial 3 months training period (becuase I had an amazing and inspirational manager). Unfortunately after he was pushed out, there was no one left to shield us from the true nature of the company. Did you know foxtons have a 110% employee turnover? Ever wondered why? ...

Foxtons real estate is the worse. I will not give too much detail, because I am still under them. Will be getting out soon. I have a lawyer involved now. Home s/h gone up on MLS live after 30 days. 40 days still not up. Ask them why? Well we are working on it, I put the request in, it should be automatic after 30 days. Excuse after excuse. They ...
