Premium Review Foxtons: Nice looking site but poor service (77 words)
by - written on 05/01/07 (Not useful, 368 readings)
Rating:

Wicked looking website, havn't actually tried their service yet but i hear that it isn't too good. I like the amount of content they have, things like local area information, but they don't seem to have a huge property selection. Even in the espensive areas of london which you would expect foxtons to have. When I click to view ...  Read the complete review

If you are looking for a headache, work with Foxtons. I made a big mistake to rent my property out using them. It turned out a nightmare for both my tenant and I. They told bunch of lies to us. Tenant moved out after five months since she was so fed up. They never returned the commission that they cut up front since the tenant broke the contract ...  Read the complete review

Dodgy Foxtons, how about wehatefoxtons.com! (160 words)

There is always the the odd good egg in a batch of rotten ones. I am not a customer of Foxtons (and never will be by choice) but every where I go there seem to be bad experiences. Just try mentioning their name a few times in public and see what happens. They are not members of any of the usual Estate Agent bodies and have no code of ...  Read the complete review

Foxtons - ready to stop thinking for yourself? (356 words)
by Mental - written on 31/10/06
Rating:

Unlike most Foxtons employees, I managed to last longer than the initial 3 months training period (becuase I had an amazing and inspirational manager). Unfortunately after he was pushed out, there was no one left to shield us from the true nature of the company. Did you know foxtons have a 110% employee turnover? Ever wondered why? ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Foxtons: FOXTONS-YOU WILL BE SORRY (235 words)
by - written on 25/09/06 (Somewhat useful, 814 readings)

Foxtons real estate is the worse. I will not give too much detail, because I am still under them. Will be getting out soon. I have a lawyer involved now. Home s/h gone up on MLS live after 30 days. 40 days still not up. Ask them why? Well we are working on it, I put the request in, it should be automatic after 30 days. Excuse after excuse. They ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Selling a house through Foxtons (299 words)

I approached Foxtons (Ealing) to sell my house in April but only wanted to start selling in May when I came back from holiday. The manager was round my house like Jack Flash, and after the soft soap and hard sell about "Sunday markets" (never materialised), and wide area of influence through extensive advertising (never saw any apart ...  Read the complete review

In addition to the previous reviews, I thought it was worth mentioning I recently applied for a position at Foxtons. Visiting the Foxtons HQ in Chiswick for an interview, myself along with 30 or so other hopefuls were shown a presentation about Foxtons, followed by a brief interview. What became absolutely clear in the ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Worst Experience Ever (285 words)

I wish I had known about consumer reviews sites before. I have been living in a property let and managed by Foxtons for almost a year. Despite having been a tenant in different houses for over 20 years I have never had such a horrible experience as the current one. Since the beginning Foxtons charged me fees for all kind of ...  Read the complete review

1. Foxtons charge over £300 for a'watertight' tenancy agreement that you can download from a web site for £30. 2. Foxtons take ALL their commission charges for the duration on the tenancy agreement out of the incoming rent UP FRONT. This means that if the tenants stop paying rent and you have to evict you will then face a battle to get ...  Read the complete review

I also joined this site just so I can let as many people as possible know what terrible problems I had with this company. This is highlighted in the fact that they are not a member of any regulatory estate agent bodies and they also have their own team of solicitors (I wonder how many complaints they get!!!!). I rented my property through them ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Foxtons aren't all bad! (556 words)

Having just read all the negative reviews about Foxtons has prompted me to try to go some way towards redressing the balance, speaking from my own experience. While fully admitting that they often come over as too pushy, flashy and slick for their own good, like any organisantion, Foxtons is the sum of its parts, and like most ...  Read the complete review

I have just terminated a letting contract with Foxtons and will never deal with this company again. Do not be fooled by the pretty website and smart offices. I was, and deeply regret it. Aside from the enormous £300+ 'Administration charges' we paid at the start of our tenancy, we have since paid over £20 for a reference, ...  Read the complete review

I have signed up to this website specifically to write this review. This shows how much I hate Foxtons. WEBSITE Very flash, but many of the properties are already sold or let. Does not in any way make up for the exorbitant costs or barrage of lies. LETTING The charges that you incur for any interaction ...  Read the complete review

Foxtons clearly spend a lot of time and effort in selling/renting their properties - they have a great website and there's always an agent to speak to you and show you properties. Until they've got your signature on the contract they provide a good service. However, they are very expensive, charging £300 in "admin" fees just to sign a ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Foxtons: Greedy vendors make greedy agents (433 words)

You only need to see the amount of cash being poured into the new “café-style” Foxtons offices to see that Foxtons know how to sell property. The question is, at what price will they sell your property? Will it cost you your sanity? We were lured into the Foxtons machine like many by the slick marketing façade and a promise of being able to ...  Read the complete review

If I ever have to have anything to do with Foxtons Estate Agents ever again it will be too soon. I should have been deterred by the fact that most SWLondon homeowners can tell you a Foxtons horror story, or by a bad experience with an extremely rude & arrogant agent in Fulham when I was looking to buy, or even when their agent told me the content ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Bad dealings with Foxtons (320 words)
by - written on 31/07/02 (Useful, 2039 readings)
Rating:

Foxtons may have a flashy website but in actual practise their dealings with customers leaves, in my experience, a lot to be desired. A big pointer is that they are not members of the NAEA (National Association of Estate Agents)or of ARLA (Association of REsidential Lettings Agencies). Both of these organisations have codes of conduct ...  Read the complete review

This opinion may well be in the wrong place as my experience of Foxtons so far has largely been via their website rather than with the estate agents themselves, so if Dooyoo want to create a category for Property Websites then that would solve that problem. But here we go, anyway. The Foxtons website describes itself as 'London's ...  Read the complete review
