Advantages: Nice homes, nice sales staff.

Disadvantages: There customer care is HELL ON EARTH!!!!!!!!!

Having now owned a new 4 bed George Wimpey home for 16 months I can honestly say there customer care is disgraceful!! The site manager has lied to us from the day we moved in.

Our home is still treated like part of the building site with foul mouthed brickies slagging off the workmanship on the exterior walls of our new home while repairing the 1 metre square of loose brickwork on both of our rear bay windows.

The day we had our "fam" visit we pointed out that our rear garden wich was supposed to be was flat, as agreed in the contract, had in fact a 1.3 meter drop over 9 meters! Our site manager eventualy turned up and told us not to worry as this would be "sorted". As it turned out our site manager was a complete liar who strung us along about this and many other issues for 9 months.

Since taking possesion of our new home we have suffered the following,

Loose exterior brickwork, bad pointing of exterior brickwork, poor quality turf to gardens which took 16 months to have replaced, seals missing from exterior doors, damaged chrome on all taps, sinks, shower basins and bath, loose taps, chipped shower basins, badly fitted tiles, leaking plumbing upstairs wich damaged downstairs ceilings, kitchen cupboard and drawer doors falling off (within days of moving in), badly fittted doors, cracks in walls, nail pops in ceilings (over forty in kitchen alone), temps control in both showers faulty and to many other minor items to list.

We did expect "snagging" with our new home and we are easy going people but a six month wait and 5 attempts to repair our exterior brickwork is a disgrace. Its taken 16 months to have our turf replaced, 7 visits to repair loose tiles which are still loose and some 40 phone calls and 20 letters to head office to give us the garden we paid for!!!!

We thought we were almost free of George Wimpey until we went on holiday May of this year. When we returned we found our mono blocked drive which we had paid extra for had been ripped up and badly damaged. George Wimpey had decided to clean the drains in our absence and when they couldn't get the drain covers up that they had fitted they smashed hell out of the surounding mono block and left it badly damaged without even putting a card through the door. The site manager thinks its ok to go onto someones property and damage it and not notifiy the owner because after all it is his site!!! Six attempts later and a visit form Andrew Morrison the project manager the repair job to our drive is still rubbish.

Summary: GEORGE WIMPEY CRAP CUSTOMER CARE, LIES AND SHODDY REPAIR WORK. ONCE YOUVE PAID THEY DONT CARE!!!!!!!
