I would like to warn people about Haart in Woolwich (it has since closed down), but it just reflects the disrespect they have for the customers.

Back in 2004, I signed up with Haart to sell my flat (Woolwich, SE18). The only problem was that they failed to tell me their branch was under the threat of closure.

As you can imagine, the the staff where demoralised and demotivated.

Despite this, they were still signing on new clients!.

I was later told by a competitor, they were doing this because they wanted to have as many properties on their books just to justify their bosses to keep the branch open (I think they were trying to get a new lease for their branch).

Despite this the staff were not bothered to sell my property. I walked past, and they had not sold a single property (they had about 40 listed) and mine was not even listed up on the shop window.

Plus, I was promised adverts in local papers, which never happened.

To be honest, I had not idea why there was no offer on my property, but their staff new and they never told me.

They did get some new staff, who never worked in an estate agency, but he was great and he managed to get an offer for me, but once he left things fell apart (he was there only for a month).

I phone the branch and asked for the progress on the sale (I think this staff member had been drafted from another Haart branch). But he had no clue about the position of the sale. They did not even know if the buyer had the survey done? Has he had a mortgage offer?.

Even the new 'stand' in manager was useless. I told him that I had heard his branch was closing this is why the staff were demoralised. He said this was untrue and all was well.

Anyways, I pulled out of the sale - it was going no where. They were doing nothing for me. If I had the buyers details, I could have been able to salvage something...

I can confirm the Woolwich branch has shut down.

I will never go back to Haart for their sleezy business practices!!

Even if a branch is due to close etc.. the staff should have acted in a proffessional manner and the management should have done more for the staff and their customers.

Summary: Haart sucks!
