Persimmon Homes ... were buying a Persimmon Home through their home-mover scheme - where they pay the estate agent and HIP fees. We found a full asking price buyer quickly - twice - but unfortunately due to minor problems they fell through. The property was back on the market for a couple of days with a lot of interest (we currently have a city centre flat, with parking) and within a couple of days we had an offer. Unfortunately, it was well under the asking price. As we had plenty of other interest, we told them we d wait and see for 1 week. Persimmon (encouraged by the estate agent) then rang and told us we accepted that offer or they would remarket our house. This is despite promising ... Persimmon Homes ... lot of people knock Persimmon Homes, as they do with most home builders. It may be that I ve been lucky, or it might just be that people prefer to complain, but I ve had very few problems and, four months down the line, am more than happy with my purchase. My Fiancée and I made the decision to buy a Persimmon property back in February when we saw their new developments advertised in the local paper. Not only was there no deposit required (which was vital for me as I m notoriously bad at saving!), they were also offering a "Helping Hand Shared Equity Scheme". Redrow Homes ... take your money and run, don t buy!!! BE WARNED........... The bath flooded the house the day we moved in, a flood from poor workmanship (blamed on the weather by Redrow), fire doors not fitting -you can see all the way down them into the room behind! Fireproof?! We have lived here for 2 years and still cannot decorate! Taps broken, door handles not working, plug sockets upside down, vinyl flooring lifting, leaky shower, broken toilet seats, cupboards full of screws and a garden full with 1 tonne of rubble, I would never purchase another Redrow home as long as I live and they could offer me one for nothing and I would say NO!
