“ Property search site. „
having looked at LOOK4APROPERTY.COM and having called up their London office, they were happy to confirm that in just 14 weeks, the LOOK4APROPERTY.COM site now lists (05-06-06) just over 103,000 properties. They acknowledge that they have areas whereby they currently have no properties, although in all fairness given that they have been around for JUST 14 weeks and have over 100,000 properties - I THINK THIS IS VERY IMPRESSIVE. All of the OTHER property portals took over 3 years to get over 100,000 properties on so cap off to LOOK4APROPERTY.COM for such a great achievement in such a short space of time. Like every other business their business seems to be growing on a fast rate with them adding 150 new agents MONTHLY. So on an annaul basis that's just shy of 2,000, which is excellent. I saw their ITV TV campiagn and I thought it was excellent. Their traffic hasnow surpassed the 500,000 visitors a month and is growing as I understand month on month. Those critics that have slated this site are either Rightmove employees or have never run their own business. The first is probably more applicable!!! A polite tip for them is - when anyone opens a business, it starts small and grows....DO THEY NOT UNDERSTAND THAT???? Even Richard Branson and Virgin started from a basement room.........and Virgin todays continues to grow BUT is a fraction of the SIZE of Flag Carrier BRITISH AIRWARYS...BUT he is doing well an providing effective competition. In my view, Rightmove PLC will never be able to charge the ever increasing high fees that it does in the future as lean smaller, fast growing players like LOOK4APROPERTY.COM (easyjet) continue to bite chunks out of the heel of the full fare, full fat, bloated operating cost base, current market leader player like Rightmove PLC (British Airways). The market will change. Look at M&S, they were No.1, £1bn+ annual profits then they fell off a cliff and little old £400m profits a year TESCO sped into the NO.1 pole position and is now the 3rd largest retailer in the world with annual profits topping £2.2bn. These critics really need to grow up. LOOK4APROPERTY.COM is both impressive and functional. In 2 years time, so long as they have reached 250,000+ properties, they have cracked it and rightmove and other will be in trouble as I know LOOK4APROPERTY.COM are keen to keep their prices LOW. Come back and do another review in 3 years and then lets see who is No.1 and No.2.
I find the mixed bag of previous reviews quite interesting. The first review was probably over-egging things slightly and the last review seems very bitter? Look4aProperty.com is a well-thought out and easy to use website with clear and simple navigation. To me it seems to be everything that a property portal should be. I think the website launched in late February so clearly the property numbers are never going to match say Rightmove's who has been online for over 5 years and spent literally tens of millions of pounds on their TV advertising. I find it surprising and a little naive that after 3 months reviewers expect portals like Look4aProperty.com to match the market leaders? Its probably because they have some kind of vested interest. Whilst I do not work in estate agency myself I know a number of people who do and it would seem as if the major market-leader is now attacking Look4aProperty.com at every sales pitch its team makes. This may be because they feel threatened by a new portal who's Agency Listing fees (from what I am told) are less than one-sixth of their own and who's running costs are insiginifcant compared to their own PLC's costs? To sum up I would say stop criticising this portal for a lack of properties. In my local area the spread of property on offer was impressive although I understand that the coverage in some areas is still not great. Again from my naive viewpoint I would suspect that whilst this doesn't aid general website Users now but this does offer new incoming Agents in these areas a rare opportunity, i.e. to list their properties free from any competition? Using a website like Rightmove I find it very tough to weed through all of the poor property to find something decent these days. To sum up I think Look4aProperty.com is a great looking, simple and functional website. Yes it's property numbers may not rival the market leaders but aren't people allowed to start somewhere these days and grow a business? Every website like this (be it a job site or property portal) has to start somewhere and grow it's number of adverts.
Look4aproperty some where else The new launch property portal (Look4aproperty) hence copied Rightmove thought they can enter the property market telling Estate Agents that they are going to advertise on TV and offering a cheaper service. The website is struggling to get Estate Agents to advertise with them. Look4aproperty has spent million of pounds on this launch but it will be a shame if the company fails to get the Agents to advertise. The look and navigation is well designed, but what good is that when there are hardly any properties.
In essence there is nothing wrong with this website as a website. The problem is that for a property portal there simply are not enough properties to make it worth anyone's while going there. There are plenty of other portals out there with far more properties which, as someone searching for a house, is all I care about. I do not care if the interface of a website is any good if there overall content is poor. I cannot say for certain but I would have extremely strong suspicions that the other review on this site was written by an employee/owner of look4aproperty.com which quite frankly turns my feelings towards this site from disinterest to dislike. In short, this site is not worth going to because it does not have enough properties. I would reccomend going to one of the other more established property websites out there.
Look4aproperty.com is is a fast, up to date (estate agents update it daily), easy to use web site which contains an every-growing number of properties. The website is simple to use yet features some a very powerful (and detailed) search engine that allows you to find exactly the type of properties that suit you without having to trawl through lots of unsuitable houses. With features like Local Information and detailed Maps that work I will be using Look4aproperty.com again as I search for my new house.
