Advantages: They looks flash and have good records

Disadvantages: The whole world and its wife will view your house!

Newmans were the first estate agents that we went on the market with. We were suckered in by the flash office,photos, name cards and the senior member of staff we signed up with seemed pretty convincing. Unfortuantely the senior member isn't the one that will be on the phones, talking to potential viewers and showing people around houses. Instead you get your stereotypical wide boy estate agent who is pretty useless to be honest! They sent around pretty much everybody and anybody to view our house regardless of whether or not they were suitable which is incredibley frustrating for you the vendor. There fee started off at an astronomical rate but we did negotiate them down a fair bit, they also wanted us on a far longer contract initally then we wanted but again we managed to negotiate this down from 20 weeks to just 12 weeks. We did ditch them at 12 weeks due to one of the wide boys on the phone saying our house had not sold because it was overpriced. We had never been told this and at that current time it was very competitively priced. When asked about this it was of course all denied!

Summary: All mouth but no trousers!
