We are buying a persimmon home currently, and so far they seem good but the build is several months away. The site we are buying on is well laid out and presented and the finish seems great on the houses.

Has anyone got any good stories to tell though, as it seems generally (and rightly) people are quicker to complain than praise and if someone has a good story to tell I'd appreciate it!

We moved into our Persimmon home a couple of months ago.
Persimmon have been brilliant.
When we did have a problem we called their customer care helpline and had the area manager around within a couple of hours arranging for things to be sorted.
We had employed a snagging company. They usually find between 200 and 400 things wrong with any new build, sometime many more. They found approximately 55 things wrong with our house. These included things like where the paint had been scratched, and a paving slab slightly loose, toilet seat slightly loose, a few windows had chips in them. They found nothing seriously wrong, and all items are being fixed. This has been one of the best built houses we have seen / bought. I would highly recommend them. They aren't without fault but no body is perfect, and they are quick to rectify any problems.

Sorry Dawn, but if your looking for someone to place a complement about Persimmon then you will have to look for a very long time.

Our whole estate was a disaster, if I can give you one piece of advice, then get a full survey done on everything from brickwork through to decorating.
Pay a professional to do a snagging list for you before you move in.

I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy to buy a Persimmon home.
