Advantages: The house is beautiful
Disadvantages: Not much is included as standard any more.
I moved into a new home about six months ago and I am still waiting for some issues to be fixed unfortuantely.
To be fair I was very impressed with the service that I recieved before I moved in although I was disappointed to find that on the site I was interested in they had stopped supplying things like the over, grass in the garden and house alarms as standard. They tried to sell me a costly extractor fan that I later found out was not really necessary as one is fitted as standard - albeit a more basic model than the one they were trying to push.
We discovered several faults after we moved in, the toilets didn't all flush properly and the upstairs cold water taps ran warm on an evening. THey also hadn't sealed the kitchen worktops.
We reported this and no one came to fix the problems, after we had left about six messages for the site manager, he finally called us back and could not tell us when they would be fixed - 'How long is a peace of string' were his exact words.
The worktops were then sealed and the other minor issues were fixed within a few weeks. The toilets took about six weeks altogether and the taps are not fixed yet. The plumber has told us twice that this is normal, apparently the hot water is stored in the cold water taps.
The house is beautiful and even with the problems, we still would have bought it but I think that the after sales service has been poor and I wanted to let people know what you could expect if you have any problems.
Summary: Persimmon - Lovely houses, but poor service
