Advantages: Cheap fees if they do actually sell your house
Disadvantages: Too many to list
I am an Estate Agent in the North East so therefore I have dealt with a number of Reeds Rains branches all over the North.
Obviously like with every company there will be some competition (we want to sell a house before they do etc) but with Reeds Rains it is far more than that.
We are friendly with the staff of all the other Estate Agents in the town and find them easy to speak to if we want advise or comparable prices etc but not Reeds Rains. Their staff are rude and abuse towards people in my office.
I recently contacted them as we had just started marketing a property that they had on for a year previous. Within a week we had three offers on it and when I rang them to ask for the HIP's pack I was told I would have to wait as they had better things to do than send me that. As I can see inside their office from where I am I could see that they had clients in the office as she was talking to me. I would never dream of speaking to anyone like that, especially not infront of a client.
Yes I can understand that they would be bitter as they are not going to get their sales fee but if they had done their job properly in the first place then we would not have been having that conversation.
Their sales fees are cheap but what does it matter if they charge £10 or £1000 if they do not sell your property?
From a personal experience: Last year I was looking to rent a property and I saw one that was available through them and Dowen's. I contacted Reeds Rains and was told that the property was no longer available. When I noticed that it was still being advertised a week later through Dowen's I contacted them and asked to view it. I was given a viewing for the following day. When I mentioned to them what I had been told from reeds Rains they told me that they would contact the Landlord and ring me back once they had found out what was going on.
I received a call later that day to be told that Reeds Rains did have someone that may have been interested but they had not filled in any forms or paid any money therefore the property was still available.
I am now living in the house and intend to stay there for many years but I am so pleasedd that I never listened to reeds rains then I would have lost out on my new family home.
I would not recommend anyone went to them to sell or rent a house.
Summary: Customer service is terrible

- 08/04/09 Good review thank you. However bad Reeds Rains are they cannot be as bad as Bridgefords who are the worst estate agents on the entire planet. |
