Well I had my third move with Elephant Removals Company and they did an amazing job once again. Very competitive rates and options to suit your needs.
They arrived on time, great guys that moved me, very nice, friendly and professional. The guys are always active, quick, and they know their job and did it well. Nothing was damage or broken.
They place everything in your new home wherever you want them to and they go the extra mile for you. They will look after your contents very carefully and handle with care.
I feel honoured to use Elephant Removals from London again and again, they have a great customer service. There are a lot of cowboys moving companies out there but with Elephant Removals you will never have to worry about anything.
They will treat you with manner and politeness and l would 110% recommended Elephant Removals to anyone.
Stephens of Luton removal to store quote was competitive and the team arrived on time and did a good job. However Stephens failed to provide us with a removal from store quote. As a result we now find they have more that doubled the cost to come out of store! They tried to blame it on delivery mileage but is only a further 9 miles - that does not equate to another £1,000!
We are now stuck with our furniture in store and without the additional means to get it out of store. We are also not allowed to use another company to retrieve the containers but must unload them at Stephens and load them in to another van making that an impossible option.
So we are at an impasse. I shall try BAR and/or the removers association to see if they can mediate but my only recourse beyond that is the law and small claims court.
Using Europe Removals & Storgae Ltd, SW17 was an horrendous experience. The team arrived on time but the supervisor had to leave immediately as they had not brought an adequate amount of packing boxes despite a pre-removal day assessment. This led to the removal men waiting for th supervisor to return and therefore had to rush the job. We were charged an extra £100 on the day as 'we had too much to move' again despite a pre-removal assesment. No choice but to pay as they refused to move it otherwise, we were moving 0.5 miles. Several of our expensive wedding presents were smashed depsite informing the removals men that these items were fragile. The supervisor was very rude, dissmissive and would not listen to any conversation from myself or my husband. I have made several complaints by phone and email and as of yet have had no communication with the manager. I am in the process of taking the company to a small claims court in regards to the £250 damages occured. Do not use this company. I have four other photos of other damaged goods.
A week ago I moved with my family to our new house. A friend of mine recommended a removal company that he used before - Compass Removals. I can say that this is THE BEST company that I ever used. The team came on time, they have a walk through the house and after that explained me everything that they'll do - packing, labeling, taking furniture apart. They work very fast and in no time all my life was in their van. At my new house they asked where I wont every single box and sofa, so at the end of the day all we have left to do is organize our clothes in the wardrobes and cook dinner.I want to specially thanks everybody from Compass Removals for the smooth and totally stressless move. If any one is looking for the perfect removal company give them a try.
We moved to Perth and took half a 20 foot container, the Simpsons saleman come out to our house and we showed him what we wanted to move, we was sent an email quote within two days of them coming out to us. We got other quote and some were cheaper than Simpsons but we had a good feeling about them, when the time came to book the moving day they were very helpful and gave us lots of great information on how to complete the forms. The big day can and the three staff done a great job of packing the goods and loaded it into there vehicle, we did get a call from Simpsons and they told us we had gone over the amount they had quoted for and wanted anothe £275, to be fair I did take some extra items that we did not show the salesman so it was only fair to pay them for the extra work and the extra space in the container. Over all it was a great move and not on thing got broken so hats of to the Simpsons packers and the office staff that held our hand every stepof the way.
I had the move from hell last year in using the services of Fox & Sons based in Cwmbran South Wales.
Having obtained the usual variety of quotes and having three salesmen around to cost the job we settled on Fox & Sons, who were not incidentally the cheapest.
Packing service? Forget it - many boxes were loaded without protective packaging and a valuable painting had a large portable television placed on top of it...
On a wet removal day valuable antique furniture was placed out in the rain before being loaded onto the van (and going into storage for 3 months...) - we were promised that these items would ALL be wrapped prior to removal.
The delivery of our goods 3 months later and 140 miles away was also a farce. Despite being given precise measurements of the access width to the new house a large van and trailer was used, the van couldn't get close access to our house so returned to its depot. The crew unloaded the 7 crates containing our goods and crammed them into a standard size furniture van and a box van for delivery the next day.
Several valuable items of furniture were badly damaged (more broken legs than a football team sees in a year...) or scratched - it was heartbreaking. We were covered by insurance and the claim covered a total of 25 items, including missing jewellery...
Also, all of the clothing put into storage smelled of damp and mould (a small statue had mould growing on it that had to be removed by a specialist company) - hardly a dry or appropriate storage facility then (the company had the cheek to draw our attention to the fact that the summer had been particularly wet....!).
It was 4 months after the move that we got all our furniture back from being repaired and emptied the last packing case!
Following our complaint Fox & Sons did refund some of our fees BUT the simple answer is that they should have returned our goods in the same condition that they were in when they removed them from our previous house.
Please, for your own peace of mind, if you are moving to/from South Wales use anybody but Fox & Sons based in Cwmbran....
I paid Simpsons to ship goods as part of a consolidated container on the 29th of September 2012 to the US East Coast. At the time of booking, I was assured that while they could not give me definite delivery times, it was normally between 8 - 10 weeks with a maximum of 12 weeks. On that basis I booked with them.
I finally received my goods about 24 weeks after I gave it to them - on March 17 2013. Their customer service is very poor - when I asked when I would get my goods, their only response was that in their terms and conditions, they do not guarantee delivery. They then asked me to pay an additional £1,200 if I wanted my goods delivered on time. Alternatively, they told me to come to their warehouse and take my goods and that they would then charge me for storage!!!!
Without doubt, the worst consumer experience of my life.
We have used Giant Removals second time,The removal crew arrived on time, very friendly and very hardworking staff, Giant Removals has provided good packing service using a lot of protecting covers and bubble wrap. Sam and Dawid were so careful with all our belongings, their customer service was good, they were friendly and understanding, Definitely use Giantremovals removal company again
I recently moved from Germany back to the Uk after serving in the HM Forces there, they were hired to move my belongings on the 6th November 2012. When unpacking I noticed damages to one my furniture and fridge freezer. The damage was done in manner that showed complete disregard to my property property.I am not getting much information from the company about what they going to do about it.I definitely would not recommend them to anyone and I would advice any of my former work colleagues who will be making the move back to the UK to consider changing the removal company if they get bishops move.
I moved house only a few weeks ago and had left a wallet containing over £1k in gift vouchers under the mattress as the removal guys had pretty much packed everything away except our bed and my daughters and we were going on holiday the next day. Arrived back at midnight (day before move) and forgot to remove it. Moved Friday. Rememberd it on Saturday but could not find it. I called company on the Monday, not accusing anybody but rather asking where they may have placed it as it was not with the main bedroom things. They denied seeing it and said in a most sarcastic voice that they are not in the habit of employing thieves.. We looked after them all day and gave them a good tip. Make of that what you will but I know who I won't ever be using again!
After having a surveyor coming to my place from "THE MOVING HOME COMPANY", looking quite smart and handing us a DVD package about the company, we decided to wait for the estimate. Once the estimate came with an Acceptance form on PDF file with the breakdown of service, we decided to go for them and have a "problem free" moving experience. My partner and I are flight attendants so we spend a great deal of time away and that is why we decided to spend the money and have that stress taken out of our hands. Far from reality, the experience turned into a nightmare from the moment I accepted and sent my card details and I am still going through it more than half a month later.
One of the staff members was so rude swearing and impolite that in the end we helped them getting things into the new apartment and assembled the bed ourselves because we could not wait for them to go. We ended up having to pay for a taxi to carry our own televisions unpacked , plus two other boxes, because they said there was not room in the truck and it was not safe. The following day I had to go to get my push bike myself. Bear in mind that they offered full packaging of goods and bubble wrap TVs, full covers for mattresses....my mattress was taken into the truck uncovered. The price included £40 for insurance; my washer-dryer is broken as a result of the moving and I do not think that I will get a penny for the repair.
They charged me £92.25 for waiting time on the original day of the removal because our flight was delayed but they did not wait at all and in the end it was us who waited all Friday for them to tell us in the end that they could do it on Sunday. I agreed to that under the condition they refunded the £92.25. I am still fighting with them to get that money back.
Overall, this has become such I nightmare that I wish I had done the moving myself, item by item. That would have been less stressful. The worst custome service ever and that's why I am seeking legal advice and I am so upset about the whole experience, which was supposed to have taken stress off us rather than give us even more, that I am willing to go all the way with this horrible company.
Pers Removals facilitated our move across London and they were great. The crew was pleasant, honest, and they worked really hard on a Saturday. I would recommend them to anyone needing a removal service. We used their full packing service which is worth the cost. We had many small valuable and breakable items all of which arrived in excellent condition. The valuable furniture and antiques were dismantled with skill and sensitivity and were individually walked down three flights of stairs. Nothing was damaged and the furniture was re-built at the new house. The only down-side was a parking fine for the removals lorry, but we were amply warned in advance that this may be a problem and that we would be responsible for the fee. So, no surprises there. The start of the work day was at 8:30 am with an original estimated removal time of 2:00 pm. We had many delicate things to pack and the nature of our furnishings meant that the removal took much longer than anticipated. They finished after 4:00 pm which meant that the delivery, unloading, and unpacking would be in the dark. Under different circumstances the moving crew may have simply decided to stop the job but they continued into overtime with no problems. Everyone worked very hard to make sure everything arrived in the house safely, down a long mews, and in the dark. Great team! We would recommend them to everyone.
I used a cheap-ish company called "van man london" (although the receipt I got was headed "global removal"...)Let's say you get what you pay for: the guys were two hours late, didn't keep me up to speed with their whereabouts and when I wanted a discount for the delay, I was threatened to have the 2 movers forcefully remove my belongings and take them back. Also enjoyed a fair bit of chauvinist patronising which made the experience all the more enjoyable... This sure was a very unpleasant experience. A friend of mine had used them before and didn't have a problem though so perhaps I was just particularly unlucky. But in all the time I have lived in London, this is the worst service I got.
Moving an office in London was a big deal for us but after moving with the removal, we realized that it can be simplified. They were very pleasant to converse with and provided us with advice and tips to move our office quickly and safely. I would recommend this company to everyone for business move.
Removal company They were great packers. However when moved. They had damaged my painting, brand new wooden floor and caused a huge hole in the back of the door. The office manager was so rude about the whole thing. After 14 hours of moving from my 2 bedroom apartment, they have done more damage than good. I will send picture if need be, I called them immediately the next day and they said send us an email and pictures. 12 days later, they said they cannot help and its my problem. Please never recommend them to anyone. If you need pictures, I will send them.
