Advantages: They were fine before, you could be lucky, apparently 1000s are

Disadvantages: poor customer liaison, admin problems, poor payment facility, unhappy customers can go hang

I had used Elephant Removals before and they were fine. But this time, they had confirmed a removal date and I arranged completion for the following day, and then less than a week before the move, they rang to say that their computer system had given the date to someone else. They argued that I should never have assumed the date was confirmed (despite them telling me previously that it was) and that they had 1000s of happy customers. It is now very hard for me to find a removal firm at short notice, let alone a competitive quotation. They also lost my details at one point (temporary computer error apparently) and their "card machine" was not working and they preferred to be paid in cash or bankers draft, or by cheque 10 days in advance for an amount that was unknown until the day. They kept repeating they were very very busy. Watch out!
